Los verbos irregulares en inglés son aquellos que, para formar el pasado simple o el pasado participio
(tiempos compuestos) no siguen ninguna norma, simplemente su palabra cambia totalmente.
Un ejemplo muy claro es el propio verbo auxiliar "do", ya que en pasado simple pasa a ser "did" y en
pasado participio "done".
Irregular verbs in English are those that, to form the simple past or past participle (compound times) do
not follow any standard, simply its word changes totally.
A very clear example is the auxiliary verb "do", since in simple past it happens to be "did" and in past
participle "done".
Ejemplos:
Terminación "-ed": walked, looked, listened, wanted.
· Que la "y" tenga delante una vocal (play, stay): en este caso solamente hay que añadir el sufijo "-
ed" (played, stayed).
· Que la "y" tenga delante una consonante (study, cry): en este caso la "y" se cambia por "i" y
añadimos el sufijo "-ed" (studied, cried).
In English, the regular verbs are those that form (train) his (her, your) past (simple and participle) adding
the suffix "-ed" (if the verb already ends in "e" only the suffix is added "-d").
Examples:
Completion "-ed": walked, looked, listened, wanted.
If the verb ends in " - and " there are two possibilities:
• That "y" has ahead a vowel (play, stay): in this case only it is necessary to add the suffix "-ed" (played,
stayed).
• That "y" has ahead a consonant (study, cry): into this case her(it) "y" it(he,she) changes for "i" and we
add the suffix "-ed" (studied, cried).
