Nowadays, the demand for the electrical energy is increasing continually. Generally,
fossil fuels are used to provide the needed energy. However, the instability of their costs
makes searching for other alternatives necessary. In this sense, renewable energy are best
placed to be used for electrical energy generation, specially since it can be used in both
grid connected and isolated plants. Hence, in this context, the book concentrates on
research works that deal about renewable energies for powers generation.
The book examines both the theoretical and practical topics related with the renewable
energy sources. Indeed, it focues, inter alia, on wave energy, geothermal, biomass
energies. The research topics that deal about energy optimization, management and power
control are also studied.
