Abstract
The current study aims at identifying the effectiveness of utilizing formative assessment in
improving the level of academic achievement among students of Thinking and Scientific Research
Skills Course at the Faculty of Business Administration, Shaqra University. The units of the course are
prepared in accordance with the strategy of formative assessment. In addition, an achievement test on
Thinking and Scientific Research Skills Course is prepared. Quasi-experimental approach is adopted to
identify the effect of applying formative assessment on the achievement of the third level students at
the Faculty of Business Administration at Shaqra University Results conclude that the academic
achievement of the sample students is improved after applying the strategy of formative assessment.
