DARK (WEB SERIES)
(SCIENCE FICTION THRILLER
MYSTERY TRAGEDY)

The dark web series is a German science fiction thriller mystery written by Jantje Friese and
directed by Baran bo Odar. The series has completely changed the concept of sci-fi web
series and movies. Unlike the other series such as umbrella academy, travelers, frequency,
and many others which separates science facts from science fiction. The series delivers and
withstands all the expectations of the audience.
“Glitch in the matrix” one of the famous dialogues which are referred to the Deja Vu
experienced by the characters. the series consists of 3 seasons and each season consists
of 8 episodes of 40 min each. Also, complete use of the concept of time travel, time loop,
and the multiverse is used and symbiotic relationship is established between all 3.1 seasons
is based completely on time travel and at beginning of each episode, a concept and theory
are explained for better understanding of time travel by the viewers. This season completely
revolves around a missing boy, murder, and the mysteries theory related to it. The story is
about a fictional town Windon, 3 generations, and 4 families who are trapped in a trinity of a
33-year long loop(1953,1985,2019). The story revolves around the character Jonas
kanhwald, a gloomy teenager who recovering from the trauma of his father's suicide.
Season 1 ends with surprising events and a mysterious end.
Season 2 is based on the theory of the time loop and how altering events affects the future.
several new characters have been introduced and frequent time travel is possible.
Questions to several events have been answered and also raised more new mysteries to be
answered, also created an image of the evil side for the viewer but the series holds more
than what any individual can predict. the target of the series is to end the never-ending loop
of pain, sorrow, and tangled relationships of character. Also, an upcoming apocalypse
repeats itself in a loop. season 2 ends at an unpredicted death of a major character and
puts the audience in shock. Season 3 starts with the introduction of the multiverse or the
parallel universe. Now the story revolves around the second universe, detailing of the
second universe is played by similar characters with changes in roles. season 3 clears the
image of the events and their outcomes. Also, the writer has provided 2 sides to the
audience to decide the evil and the good side which at last is also clear that both are also
the victims and suffered all the pain, sorrow.
Viewers require a high level of concentration to understand the deep philosophical
conundrum and the scientific paradigm. Also, few questionable sci-fi facts have been raised
but after all the process provides entertainment to the audience and serves its ultimate
purpose. the methodology and execution of the series make it very difficult to talk about it
without revealing its spoilers. there are times when it is hard to follow the events because of
so many characters, plots, and changes in the time period. Also, there are a few loose ends
but if you are into science fiction along with time travel then this series will be a treat for your
eyes.
