Dirty and Loud

“Colored people were neat and quiet; niggers were dirty and loud”(pg 87)

I don't want to come off as racist or anything but I understand what this quote

means and very clearly . I don't think we should use the N-word, I personally don't

ever say it because I was raised in a household where it's a racist term and it's very

disrespectful. Let's look at how Tony Morrsion sees it.

Colored people are the type that dont act the way they are put out to be. They are

the ones that are civil, make a good living, or see their own race as the same white

people do with such disgust and hatred . For an example in the book we see

Juniors mom Geraldine . She is a colored woman that prefers her cat over her son

because it's “quiet and clean as she is”(85) she tends to keep to herself. So we can

see that not even she likes her own race because of how their society betrays black

people. She even teaches Junior this so he will understand as well , hense where

the first quote came from. My interpretation in their world , colored people can

also be police officers working hard , protecting others , doing good for their

community , not involving any crime and are successful .

As for ni**ers. They are “ dirty and loud”. They are seen as getting into trouble

through fights, gangs , robberies , shootings , dealing drugs, put into prison. No

one wants to be in that life because they aren't successful and don't make a good

living . Cholly is an example from the book, he shows violent acts towards his own

daughter which is disturbing , he has a attraction towards Pecola and rapes her.

Now for BLM talk. I am all for it black lives matter because everyone's lives

matter , they are a part of us. But when they were rioting and burning down

buildings . What was the purpose? They didn't act civil, they acted the way

everyone seems them out to be...they were proving everyone's point. And weren't

they just trying to prove that their lives are of the same value as everyone else's ?

This picture right here is stupid. A white girl is trying to tell a BLACK officer

ʻBLMʻ shes stucking the middle finger at him FOR WHAT??? He is colored but

just because he works for the police doesn't mean he doest care for black people

and hate on his own race. BLM you don't think he knows that ?? That's why he has

a living so he doesnt get in that life everyone thinks out to be he's trying to help so
more black people are involved with the community and they are seen with the

same value. Sheʻs hating on him because hes doing what she's rioting for? Change

as big as this won't happen overnight and people need to get that through their

head.
