OVERVIEW

Functions of insurance are to spread the loss caused by a particular risk over several persons, who
are exposed to it and who agree to insure themselves against the risk.

The most important function of insurance is to spread the risk over a number of persons who are
insured against the risk, share the loss of each member of the society on the basis of the probability
of loss to their risk and provide security against losses to the insured.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. This is a group project and the students are required to form groups comprising of five (5)
members only.
2. Each group needs to submit a video on the functions and benefits of insurance.
3. Students must present their assignments using video presentation.
4. Any work which is found to be totally plagiarized from any source will be marked as “no
submission”.
5. Assignment submitted late without prior application for an extension or medical evidence will
not be accepted. Extensions are granted only in exceptional cases.
6. The video submission is due on Week 14. Failure to do so will jeopardize the student’s grade
for this subject.
