Introduction

Online shopping is a form of electronic commerce where by consumers directly buy goods
and services from a seller over the internet without an intermediary service.Online shopping
has become more popular into people’s daily life.Lot of people now a days preferring online
shopping over offline shopping.Online shopping is easy and convenient for people to pickup
the product they want.Using the internet people just need to click the mouse or just tap the
mobile screen to finish the whole shopping process.Online shopping makes shopping easy
and makes life’s easy too.By shopping online customers are able to compare prices
easily.Online shopping is booking delivery of a new and traditional sale products and services
to the customer through electronic channels.The e-stores are frequently visited by the
customers because of the 24/7 availability which is an added advantage and made easy and
convenient for the consumer.
The growth of online cloth shopping is drastically increasing due to its convenience and time
saving features.Earlier it was not so popular to buy clothes from online marketing, but the
rapid growth of digital marketing is emerging and gaining attention by everyone.At present
scenario hardly anyone goes to local stores to purchase garments.You are allowed to select
your garments as per your preferred sizes, colour, designs, etc and they also charge extra for
shipping your items on desired mentioned places as per your convenient time.

Need

As online shopping’s growth is drastically increasing this study is to analyse why people are
choosing online shopping over normal shopping and to understand what is making the
consumers to prefer online shopping over the offline shopping.The study on impact of online
shopping on consumer behaviour helps us to understand the impact created by the e-shopping
on the consumers and what aspects made them to prefer shopping online.

Objectives

 To study the overview of online shopping.


 To study the buying behaviour of consumer towards online shopping.
 To analyse the satisfaction of consumers towards online shopping.
 To examine the reason of consumers to choose online shopping.

Methodology of the study


The information is based upon the secondary source data..The secondary data is collected
from the various journals, magazines and online shopping websites over the internet.The data
collected is analysed with the help of comparative analysis and various graphs.

Scope

The scope of this study is the consumer behaviour towards the online shopping and why are
consumers preferring online shopping over the retail shopping.The scope of online shopping
just got wider.Online cloth shopping is a segment which need to be tapped.Online cloth
shopping is possible from Men’s blazers to women’s accessories.With a larger portion of
population having access to the internet this gives an impetus to have online clothing
stores.All in all, this study will help the entrepreneurs to get an idea of what actually the
consumers desire from the online stores and it will help them to expand and improvise their
business.

Limitations

 This study is limited to twin cities only.


 There might be error in numbers as it's existing data of past.
 As there is less time the respondent are limited to the age group of 20-45.
 This study is limited to only textiles other items are ignored.
