1. Place yourself in the role of a manager at a Cognet. What role would IT play in helping
you achieve your objective? Provide at least three examples. (Hint: talk about 2 systems
that can be implemented to achieve these business objectives)

If I was the IT manager at cognet I would manage the flow of business by making sure I use
IT efficiently in every aspect.

I would use IT un managing information systems which is an information system that uses
data collected by the transaction processing system and uses this data to create reports in a
way such that managers can use it to make routine business decisions in response to the
problems.
I would also use IT in Transaction processing systems which provide a way to collect,
process, store, display or cancel transactions.
IT could also be used for Decision Support System which helps make decisions by working
and analyzing data that can generate statistical projections and data models.

2. When Cognet sets up its team to acquire its company it makes sure the teams consists
of a programmers, an IS manager and IT Infrastructure manager? Why are these members
important to Cognet? What is their role in the acquisition?

At the point when a cycle of acquisition occurs it is consistently important to have a group of
developers, managers and infrastructure managers since it manages converging on with
another organization. Having just a solitary gathering of individuals who may be gifted in
just a single area isn't sufficient in supporting the dynamic factor to combine or retain
another organization which can either be of a similar scale or a more limited size. Zones
where there need to progress or versatility regarding any programming may require the
assessment and choices of developers where infrastructure managers may manage how
groups and work space should be arrangement post blending the organization.

3. “You need a clear and concise view of the data flow within the data center. If you don’t
know what has to move together, you might disrupt business during a merger or
acquisition,” he says. Explain how a data center helps make a merger and acquisition
more efficient. Explain what this means with reference to data management and data
storage . How would Cognet store large sets of databases to do with various firms they
have acquired?

Since this deals with IT companies where in data is the major constituent, new data is being
generated every day, this data is considered to be crucial and is always given the utmost
importance and must always be secure. Thus there must be a clear and concise view of the
data flow. Any mistakes on the same might lead to disruption of business during a merger or
acquisition. With reference to data management and storage, this relates to secure storage
of data and having successfully data integrity in the merged company to ensure that there is
complete security for data being used. Cognet stores the data into large data centers and
also collects information from people to be stored from the merger company after which
people are let go.

4. What are some ethical issues faced by the mergers and acquisitions? How can these be
solved?

Issues faced with companies undergoing any sorts of merging or acquisitions may be with
respect to having ownership of data or information or any sorts of data theft or leaks that
might have happened prior to the merger. Data, as we already discussed on previous point
is the most crucial point of operation and thus is to be handled with proper security and
integrity. Any issues that are not handshake upon or noted on properly before the merger
might cause legal issues post the merger that may incur losses. In order to resolve such
kinds of issues it is important to make note of flow of data and sign agreements over
complete control of data before the actual merger process begins.

Where some are negatively affected by digital media in certain spots of their personal life,
some would say it credited their professional life immensely. People all over the world are
using digital media to form communities, coordinate action, and make their voices heard on
a variety of issues. Moreover it is known for delivering fast results and produce efficient
sales. Digital marketing enables a company to easily react to customers and make the
necessary changes. Digital media will save you money. Even pay-per-click advertisements
are relatively inexpensive as opposed to what you would have spent on conventional
marketing strategies.
Digital media, of course, isn't a flawless vehicle. There isn't a single form of mass
communication that isn't. Among small-business owners, digital media has several
drawbacks. Digital media can trigger “media fatigue” in an organization. Every day, users are
inundated with thousands of messages.
Copycats may be attracted to a company by digital media. Digital marketing campaigns are
easy to duplicate and even copy because they are so out there and easily accessible.
Digital media has the potential to devolve into a damage-control exercise. This is the most
common grievance of small-business owners, who are perplexed by the scam artists,
fraudsters, trolls, and editors whose sole aim seems to be to cause trouble.
Considering the two simultaneously may trigger double vision therefore settling on a single
argument cannot do justice to the diversity that exists within the beneficial and damaging
aspects of digital media.

There are many principal tools and technologies for accessing information from databases
that help make business performance and decision making better. Data warehouse is a big
database that houses all the data that is needed to make decisions throughout the whole
organization. The data warehouse first takes all the data from the company's operational
systems and combines it with the data that is pulled from outside sources. This collection of
data is reformatted into one database that is used for management reporting analysis. Data
that is available in the data warehouse can be found in the information directory.
A data warehouse benefits organizations by making data available for anyone to access as
needed This keeps the data information secure and can prevent redundancies or
inconsistencies . It ultimately helps management make decisions that will help the company
move forward.
Business intelligence is the term used to describe the data and software tools for organizing,
analyzing, and providing access to data in order to help a company make better decision.
The tools give users the opportunity to analyze data in hopes of seeing new patterns and
relationships that are useful for better decision making. The tools for business intelligence
consist of software that performs database querying and reporting, multidimensional data
analysis, and data mining . The data can be analyzed by the company once it is made
available in the data warehouse.
Data mining is defined as a process that provides a business with insights into company data
through the searching of patterns and relationships that will help better foresee future
behavior. Data mining helps make better decisions and predicts the effects that may result
from those said decisions.
