Final Lesson Plan

Teacher Name : Sidra Saleem

Roll No : By628031

No of student : 40

Subject : Science

Class :7

Time : 35 mint

Topic : Matter and its State

General objects:
1. To develop interest for subject science.
2. To develop creative skills.
3. The students will able to apply scientific knowledge in daily life.
4. The students will be able to know about the topic.
Specific objectives:
1. The students learn about the states of matter.
2. What are the role of states of matter
3. The students will be able to know about the effects of heat on solids liquids and
gases.
Teaching Method:
• Lecture Method
A.V aids:
• Chart, white board, marker, duster etc.
Previous knowledge:
1. What do you know about matter?
2. What is the role of liquids?
Presentation:
Three states of matter:
• Matter exists in three physical states solids, liquids and gases:
Solids:
• The particles present in solid substances are very close to each other and they are
tightly packed. Due to this reason solids are non compressible and they cannot
diffuse into each other.
• The solid particles possess only vibrational motion.
There are strong attractive forces in solids which hold the particles and for this
reason solids have definite shape and volume.
Liquids:
• Liquids don’t have a definite shape but have a definite volume.
• They adopt the shape of the container.
• Molecules of liquids are in a constant state of motion. Evaporation and diffusion of
liquid Molecules is due to this motion.
• The densities of liquids are much greater than those of gases but are close to those of
solids.
• The space among the Molecules of liquids are negligible just like solids.
• The intermolecular attractive forces in liquids are intermediate between gases and
liquids. Melting and boiling points of liquids, gases and solids depend upon the
strength of such forces.
Molecules of liquids possess kinetic energy due to their motion

LIQUID PARTICLES MOVEMENT

Gases:

• Gases don’t have definite volume.

• They don’t have definite shape.
• Gases can diffuse and effuse.
• Gases can be compressed by applying pressure.
• Gases can expand on heating by increasing the available volume.
• When sudden expansion of gases occurs cooling take place, it is called Joule Thomson
effect.
• Molecules of gases are in constant state of motion.

Evaluation:
1. How many kinds of matter?
• Which of the states of matter has fixed volume?
• What we fill in balloons?
Home work:
1. Give examples of gaseous state?
2. What is the shape of liquid?
3. Explain the difference between solids, liquids and gases?
