2.1 Login
When you start SOVA software you have login screen, for
logging of authorized users.
NOTE: Some features in Sova Sea&Land - Video Surveillance are not supported on all
MS models.

3 User guide
The application has a graphical user interface (GUI) which is split to four main areas.
- Video area
- General control and system information
- PanTilt control
- Thermal/daylight camera control with utilities
NOTE: Some features in Sova Sea&Land - Video Surveillance are not supported on all
MS models.
Main Control
Main control buttons are located in the bottom-left corner.
Master/Slave: Sova Sea&Land - Video Surveillance needs to be
connected to the server (IPCom) to be able to control the
multisensor. If in master mode multisensor can be controlled and
If in slave mode only status data is being received.
Stop PT: Stops moving PT unit.
GIS: If control command is received from the GIS it must be
approved using the GIS button.
If button is yellow approval is pending.
If button is green GIS is allowed to control MS.
System Info
The system info panel is located in the bottom-right
corner. Information about angles (pan, tilt, camera
FOV and focus), CPE status (temperature and voltage)
and time is displayed.

GUI Control
The graphics user interface (GUI) can be controlled using the buttons on the Sova
Sea&Land - Video Surveillance panel in the bottom-right corner.
Open Settings.
Settings
In the Settings menu you can change basic
settings. With double clicking on the value
(blue text or green/red for True/False), you
can change it. If you messed up something,
you can still reset the settings to Factory
Defaults with the button
in the left bottom
corner of the Settings menu. When you
change the settings or reset them to
Factory Defaults, you need to restart the
program. You will be asked to do that when
you close the Settings menu with the
question:

Using the track bar thumb MS can be turned to the desired position.
Alarm Management
Turn On/Off alarms. If the function is turned on, the icon will
starts blinking when change is detected.

3.2 MS Movement
PanTilt
Initialize PT unit. Some PT units needs to be initialized after the power cycle. If
this is the case the button is yellow.
If the button is red it means that MS is mounted on the mast which is not on
top. If this is the case MS is not operational.
Move the multisensor PT unit to its home position.

Trigger auto-focus.
Video Tracking
NOTE: When object tracking is not needed turn the video tracker off. The tracking
process requires additional hardware resources and additional video stream from the
camera which leads to higher requirements for the network bandwidth.
Image Stabilization
Image Stabilization stabilizes the image and reduces blurring and shakes
associated with the motion of the Cameras and PanTilt unit.
Extra functions
Show crosshair in the center of the image.

Crisp (Sharpen)
Crisp is an image enhancement function that sharpens edges in the scene (not
supported on all models).

3.5 Utils
Auto Patrol
Using Auto Patrol user can record PT movement and create
path which can be later on played back.
Play selected Auto Patrol path.
Presets
Using Presets user can record current position and some
camera settings into 20 presets which can be later quickly
accessed to move PT to desired position and set camera
settings or to play in a sequence.
Show/hide presets. User can store up to 20 presets per location. To store a
preset user must hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard and double-click
NOTE: Some cameras doesn’t support presets for zoom and focus.
Start/stop auto patrol using presets. The pause in seconds between each
preset can be set using the numeric up-down control.

With IVA button, which can be found on day cam tab (DL) or thermal cam tab (TH). You
enable video analytics tab for day light or thermal camera.
Movement detector
Click on the detector you want to activate, draw the area with your mouse and Confirm. If
you don’t select the area of detection, the whole image will be used for detection.
With trashcan button you can delete detector and with pencil button you can change
settings of detector, like sensitivity, classes or detection mode.
On top picture you can see Object detection in action. IVA detected vehicle on video screen
and draw blue square around it. If you define zones on screen system will automatically take
picture of screen and sound an alarm if detected object is in zone.
To use IVA to its full capabilities, understanding of the detectors is critical. Consult a separate
Intelligent video analytics manual for full understanding and configuration.

Span – In thermography, Span refers to the difference between the high and low
temperature settings on an infrared image.
Surveillance platform – Platform used for observing and tracking targets and areas on the
map (includes MOPs and OBSPs)
