My Country, My Identity

Who am I? Where do I from? What country do I live? What is my identity? What

is identity? These questions keep running in my head when I heard the title of the essay
“My Country, My Identity. But first, what is the true meaning of identity. For me,
identity is the qualities or characteristics that make a particular person different from the
others. Even the countries have their own characteristics that are part of their identity.
Different countries have their own characteristics that are part of the identity of the
citizens of that particular country.

Everyone have their own identities or personalities that make them different from
the other. Sometimes we met a person that had a same personality to us. But it doesn’t
mean that you are not different from the others. Because everyone is different from the
others, maybe we have few aspects that same to others, but not at all. Because we are
different, so don’t compare yourself to others. Even the countries have their own
characteristics. But we can say that even the countries have the same aspects that the
same to others. Because we influence them and they also influence us, so we have the
same aspects. In the citizens of the country, they have the same physical or personalities
that are part of their identity. For example, the skin color of the Filipinos, which is the
brown skin that known in the world. The eye color, hair color, height and being
hospitable are also part of the identity of Filipinos. I am Filipino and I’m proud of that.
Being Filipino I have my own identity that makes me different from the others. Yes, I am
Filipino that had brown skin, black eyes, and hospitable but I have my own identity. I am
Rose-Ann Jane Garrido, proud Filipino, which had same personalities like other Filipino.
But have different identity to others.

Everyone have their own identity. Remember, that we are different to each other.
So don’t compare yourself to others. Just be yourself and do what makes you happy even
though everyone is judging you. Our identity is important because this is the proof that
we are different to others and we have place in this world because we have our own
identity. So you better keep your identity like keeping your beloved country. Because the
country is like our identity that gives us place to this world which is different to others.
And our country is part of our identity.
