EXPLAIN ORGANIZATIONAL VISION, MISSION, STRATEGY AND

STRATEGIC PLANS AND THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THEM
FOR THIS UNIVERSITY.

The ICT University operates a purely US-based curriculum to provide quality ICT
and Managerial Human Capacity Development specially targeted for Africa, Latin
America, the Caribbean and Asia, the ICT University is a vibrant institution which
aims at imposing itself as the premier destination for research, innovation and
training of scholars relevant in the context of developing economies. The
University develops productive and relevant Diploma, Bachelors, Masters and
Doctoral level scholars to utilize their research and training in solving the
substantial problems in their countries. (WIkipedia, 2021)
Vision
The ICT University (ICT-U) Vision 2020 Agenda aims to make ICT-U the premier
destination for research, innovation and training of scholars relevant for the context
of developing economies. (ICT-U, n.d.)
Mission
To train scholars from developing economies to participate as knowledge
producers and not just knowledge consumers in today’s information age
Strategic Plan
ICT-U has found out the need for scholars in developing environments that are
thinkers and doers and that will use their research results in Information and
Communication Technology to address and to help solve the multi-faceted
challenges in their own countries. And these scholars can be a major force in
helping tackle some of the massive challenges currently found in many developing
countries.
So as objectives she has decided to prioritize the following
• To serve students from our specific regions of the world: Africa, Latin
America, The Caribbean, and South East Asia (ICT-U, n.d.).
• To collaborate with external partners (ICT-U, n.d.)
• Pursue learning and professional devolvement to ensure effectiveness (ICT-
U, n.d.)
• Teach, coach and mentor others and help others to understand the policies
and best practices that underline excellence in their best projects. (ICT-U,
n.d.)
• Evaluate lectures and students to ensure quality of teaching and learning.
(ICT-U, n.d.)
HOW EXTERNAL FACTORS AFFECT ORGANIZATION AND
HOW CHANGES IN THE EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT
AFFECT ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGY

External environment of an organization includes a variety of factors, whose

existence, influence its behavior and performance. The action of these factors may
be direct (for example, the actions of competitors) or indirect (for example,
changes in business climate). (opentax) . While external factors are outside of our
control, they influence and create boundaries in which the organization operates
(LumenLearning). Some major factors are

Political Factors: On a large-scale parliament creates laws and regulations that may
change the way ICT-U operates. Even if it disagrees with a law, they are still
legally obligated to abide by it. On a smaller scale, relationship politics may also
influence their culture. Like Competing against other organizations for students
can be political in nature and influence the way they choose to operate. Politics on
a small or a large scale can change ICT-U goals and objectives and the way they
choose to work towards them.
Economic Factors: ICT-U can be heavily influenced by economic factors. When
people are no longer able to afford fees or choose to spend their money elsewhere,
they are directly impacted. On the other hand, they are affected when the economy
is good and people are able to spend or pay fees. Adapting to the changes in the
economy and being able to adjust organizational strategies to accommodate for
them, is essential to company survival. (LumenLearning)

Social Factors: Public opinion and societal expectations are large external factors
that can force ICT-U to reevaluate how they operate. If the public has a negative
perception of ICT-U, it could have a detrimental impact on its bottom line. Society
has high expectations for organizations to be socially responsible. Social
responsibility incorporates a wide variety of topics including community outreach,
diversity promotion, sustainability, and high ethical standards.

Technology Factors: Technology is an important external factor of organizational

behavior. It has dramatically changed how companies do business over the years
and it continues to make waves with every new technology innovation.
Incorporating technology into the organizational culture of every organization is
important to develop and maintain a successful, state of the art organization
(LumenLearning).

EVALUATE HOW STAKEHOLDER EXPECTATIONS

INFLUENCE ORGANIZATIONS

Certain reciprocal relationships exist between an organization and certain groups

and individuals (Ginter, Swayne, & Duncan, 1989) (Ginter, Swayne, and Duncan
1989). These groups and individuals are so-called stakeholders as they are
considered to have a stake or claim in the outcome of decision-making. Each
stakeholder has concerns that it expects to be met by the organization. If ICT-U is
considerate about its host communities because that improves their reputation and
strengthens its market presence. And managing the state holders affects ensures
they produce project reports and are accountable. On the other hand, if the
business chooses to ignore its host communities, that disregard becomes a black
mark on its reputation and can result in other sanctions if relations become bad
enough. The only stakeholders that businesses can ignore are the ones with little
interest and influence on their operations (smallbusineses)
