Christ the King

PART 2

In Part 1, we saw that the Lord Jesus Christ is not merely a meek and mild shepherd, but a mighty warrior
whose power and might are beyond awesome. At his return at Armageddon, he will sweep away the armies of
the world with but a word, and then proceed to set up his kingdom.

And what a kingdom it will be, because our King is beyond incredible!

The Bible describes our mighty and victorious king as:

" For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his
name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of
the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his
kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal
of the LORD of hosts will perform this." (Isaiah 9:6-7, emphasis mine)

"That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen,
nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen." (1Timothy 6:14-16, emphasis mine)

"These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of
kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful." (Revelation 17:14, emphasis mine)

"And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."
(Reveleation 19:16, emphasis mine)

Scripture paints us a vivid, clear portrait of our mighty Saviour; he is not merely a king, but the KING OF
KINGS. There is no king higher than him, none who may rightfully lay claim to his throne, and no need of a
successor. His rule shall be firm and absolute, without any dispute:

"And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them
with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." (Revelation
19:15, emphasis mine)

Now, as a note, ruling with "a rod of iron" doesn't mean he will rule brutally or meanly; only that when he gives
a command, it is final, and that no one shall overturn it or question it. When he speaks, people will listen. What
he decrees is law, and that is THAT.

During his reign in the Milennium, ther will be a time of peace and prosperity the likes of which the world has
never seen. Because of Christ's firm rule and intolerance of violence and evil, Man will finally see what life was
intended to be like by God:

"And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into
plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they
learn war any more." (Isaiah 2:4)
Another description is listed in Isaiah: "To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for
ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called
trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes,
they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many
generations. And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen
and your vinedressers. But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our
God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves. For your shame ye
shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall
possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them." (Isaiah 61:3-7)

Chirst will use this time to heal the planet, and restore what was devastated in the Tribulation. Scorched trees
will bloom again, dead grass will return to life, the oceans, lakes and rivers that have turned to blood will once
again teem with scores upon scores of fish; animals will become tame and harmless:

"The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the
serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD."

(Isaiah 65:25)

Under Christ's reign, all will be set right again, and the Earth will become the paradise it was always meant to
be; not the sodded, sin-cursed sin-filled orb of misery that this sad world had degraded and degenerated into.
The shroud of sin's influence will be lifted from this planet, and beauty like we have only imagined in our
wildest dreams will come shining forth.

Now, what ruler in today's time (or in any time, for that matter) can lay claim to such power and feats of
awesome wonder? What president has reigned in such prosperity; what minister or premier can say they have
brought such peace? Which Czar, which duke, what Ayatollah, Caliph, Imam, Emperor, Furher or Dictator can
even hope to compare with such works?

NONE.

Only the King who now rules in our hearts; the King whom is soon coming for those that are his; only the Lord
of lords who will rule FOREVER is capable of such things. Our wonderful Saviour and Lord, whom is a
warrior, king, and judge all in one. As the portrait of Christ the Warrior portrays a frightening image of the one
whom will bend the earth to his rule, the portrait of Christ the king is an awesome image of him as the
RIGHTFUL ruler of not only the earth, but the hearts of man. The sheer majesty and incredible beauty of the
true king is awe-inspiring, and all the books of the world are unable to contain the praises the so richly deserves.

If you are reading this, and have not yet turned to Christ as your Saviour and King, it is not too late. There is
still time for you to miss out on hell, and be witness to the wonderful kingdom that is to come. You need to
recognize that you have sinned, and that ONLY his precious blood, shed on the cruel cross of Calvary, can wash
away your sins and save you from eternal damnation in Hell. To be willing to turn from your sins, and put your
faith in Christ as your Saviour and Lord.

And for my brothers and sisters who are in the Lord: take heart. Our flight home is not too far off; it is near,
even at the door. A heartbeat away from us, if you will. This kingdom that we are promised to live in is not a
distant dream, but a soon-to-be-realized reality.

Hang in there everyone.

YBIC,
-Robert
