IS ONLINE SCHOOLING AS EFFECTIVE AS IN-CLASS EDUCATION?

Online courses are commonly used in colleges today because they provide convenient
access to course materials, classroom discussions, and teacher reviews. The course materials
and activities can be accessed from any computer, whether on campus or at home. Although
countries' COVID-19 infection rates vary, more than 1.2 billion children in 186 countries are
currently affected by school closures as a result of the pandemic. Some are curious if the
acceptance of online learning will continue to exist post-pandemic, considering the abrupt
change away from the classroom in many parts of the world.

Given the fact that some lessons in this curriculum needs a deep understanding and I am
not a fast-learner student, I am having a hard time in this kind of learning system. Sometimes I
doubt myself and ask if can I finish this schooling. Being in school, having a face-to-face
discussion with teachers 2-3 times a week is better than having online classes and meeting your
teachers once a week or just based on YouTube videos they’ve sent. Answering a test paper
and passing it 1 minute after the deadline is okay, but with online examinations, 1 minute after
the deadline needs a letter from the guidance to be accepted. To be honest, I became
irresponsible and lazy in answering activities, yes, I submit on time but I always do these
activities a day before the deadline. There are a lot of distractions when you’re at home
studying, especially when you are a working student, and it is hard to cope with the lessons,
sometimes, I end up crying for not understanding it. But of course, nothing will happen if I will
not do something. To cope up with this, I try to do my learning style in school, that is taking
down notes and studying it in daybreak. In the videos my teachers sent, I’ll study by writing
down the things I have to understand and try at least 2 problems. Sometimes, I go to my
friend’s house to have a group study with following the protocols. I may not do this always, but
this helps me understand my lesson. Lastly, is to pray, it may sound funny but without prayers,
students might fail.
Now, answering the question, to some students online-schooling maybe better, but for
me, it wasn’t. The presence of teacher in front of you discussing has an effect on me in coping
up or accepting the lessons in my brain. My seatmates whom I talk to also has an effect. Though
online classes make you more flexible with your schedule but this also makes you irresponsible
sometimes.
