Inclusion classroom
Teachers
- Ms.Coates is the main teacher in the classroom.
- Mr.Arcona is the special education teacher who stays in
class for small group and test help for the special
education students.
Class theme
Although there is no clear classroom theme Ms.Coates is
obsessed with cheetah print so students create drawings for
her with cheetah print all over them.
Daily routine
The first thing students do when they arrive is go to PE.
They then go into their Math lesson, and on some days they
go to the library after Math. At around 10:30, the time I
arrive, we go to outside for our snack break. Right after we
go into our English lesson. At 12:50 students begin lunch.
After lunch students work on science and social studies.
Special Education students (SPED)
There are a handful of SPED students as it is an inclusion
classroom. We have 2 students with autism, 4 who have ADHD
and one of the students who has ADHD also has dyslexia.
Gifted students
In our classroom we currently have no students who have
tested into the gifted program in elementary school but 2
students got tested mid year and will be going into the
gifted program in middle school.
