Discuss the positive socio-cultural impacts of tourism here in the

Philippines.

Base on the module provided there are five positive socio-cultural impacts of
tourism; Tourism as a force of peace, strengthening communities, tourist facilities that
can benefit residents, revaluation of culture and traditions, and tourism encourages
civic involvement and pride.
Let's first determine socio-cultural. The definition of sociocultural is something
that involves the social and cultural aspects. The simplest meaning of it is knowing
about the people around you and their family backgrounds. If we will connect it to the
first positive socio-cultural impact of tourism, Filipinos are known for their hospitable
culture. Filipinos love to interact with other people, you can find them easy to
befriend. Filipinos also like to appreciate and encounter more about other cultures,
they are willing to study and appreciate other cultures. Foreigners can say that the
Philippines is a warm and friendly country to visit, not just because of its climate but
also because of its people. Therefore, the Philippines became well-known
internationally as a friendly country. Many tourists now want to explore the
Philippines and be familiar with the Philippine culture also. Filipino's good contact with
foreigners became the Philippines ' asset to attract more travelers. This positive
relationship will result in the next impact, the strengthening of communities. The
activities like festivals and local events can bring closer the bond of locals with
foreigners but can strengthen also the bond of each resident of local communities.
More jobs will also be available because of the new businesses. Philippines' NGOs and
LGOs are creating more jobs for the locals. The purpose of those is to make the
maintenance and development of the tourist spots easier and to give hope to our
local residents and eventually lessen the number of immigrants from rural areas. The
third one is related to the second positive impact. The facilities built and used for the
development of the tourism industry in the Philippines can help Filipinos to just stay
in the country rather than working abroad, which is far from their home. Another
thing is, LGOs need to upgrade the facilities and infrastructures here in the
Philippines in order to attract more tourists.

The improved rating of the Philippines as a destination of choice for tourists has
resulted in increased interest and investment in tourism-related facilities. We have
seen an upsurge in activities and developments in tourist facilities like resorts,
condominiums, condotels, health clubs, and other related businesses. Established
facilities are expanding and new ones are being planned. The facilities being
developed will be used not just by the foreign tourists but also the Filipinos. The
fourth positive impact is the revaluation of culture and traditions. The culture that
Filipinos showcases in every event is a sign that socio-cultural can help in preserving
such culture. The fact that foreigners love to experience the Philippine cultures, the
more it will be treasured, preserved, and pass on. This will result in the fifth positive
impact which is the Tourism encourages civic involvement and pride. The more
attractions and traditions will be known, the more they will be cherished and
preserved. The traditions and facilities are the Filipinos' identity and edge over other
countries. Philippines' history, culture, and traditions will be preserved not just
because it is the Filipinos' pride, but also because of its capability to attract tourists.
This will be a good chance to inform each generation that preserving Philippine's
culture and customs is very important.

What is your opinion about the economic inequality here in Asia?

In my opinion, the economic inequality here in Asia is inadequate. There are

three types of economic inequalities, Income Inequality, Pay Inequality, and
Wealth Inequality. Income inequality is the extent to which income is
distributed unevenly in a group of people. The gap between the rich and the poor
is continuously rising. It has become one of the major concerns for every
policymaker. This will result in low chances of growth in terms of demand since
the number of poor households is rising. Another bad thing is a higher
concentration of income reduces the chances for lower-income households to
accumulate physical and human capital such as land, education, or good health,
which will consequently lower the labor productivity and growth potential of the
economy. Third-world countries/ developing countries in Asia will slowly grow due
to income inequality.

Pay inequality is an individual's compensation that is unique in relation to their pay.

Pay alludes to installment from business as it were. Part of the compensation
imbalance in Asia is sex disparity. Having fair work with nice installment is the way to
lessen falling into neediness it is additionally probably the most ideal approach to
counter the risky tide of developing monetary imbalance. Nonetheless, the helpless
one keeps on remaining poor while the rich one keeps on developing its resources.
One of the significant casualties of poor people is ladies. Ladies, especially in Asia, get
less measure of installment. On normal in Asia ladies acquire somewhere in the range
of 70 and 90 percent of which men procure. One justification for this is that ladies are
lopsidedly amassed in the most reduced-paid jobs and in casual work. Up to this
point, ladies are being viewed as feeble and have no equivalent ability to guarantee
their work rights. We are presently in 2021 and I imagine that we should begin to roll
out great improvements. To accomplish it, not exclusively should more ladies have
freedoms to take up paid work, however, the nature of occupations accessible to
them should improve – alongside their privileges and dynamic force.

Finally is wealth inequality. Abundance alludes to the aggregate sum of resources

of an individual or family. This may incorporate monetary resources, like securities
and stocks, property, and private annuity rights. Abundance imbalance, accordingly,
alludes to the inconsistent dissemination of resources in a gathering of individuals. In
the event that the things talked about above will stay to develop, abundance disparity
will unquestionably rise unusually. The helpless families of underdeveloped nations in
Asia will discover carrying on with a decent life difficult to accomplish since products
are costly and their pay is not exactly the measure of cash they need to endure a
month. Rising monetary imbalance across Asia is compromising destitution decrease
and hindering the battle against sexual orientation disparity. A sad reality that Asians
are facing until now, I just hope that it will end soon for the betterment of future
generations.

friction here in the Philippines?

Here are the possible ways that we can do to avoid Job-level friction here in the
Philippines:

Policy suggestions to reduce structural unemployment include providing

government training programs to the structurally unemployed.
A. Reducing Cyclical Unemployment
1. Most economists believe that an increase in cyclical unemployment is
caused by a decrease in aggregate demand.
2. If wages and other input prices are "sticky," the economy can
experience relatively long periods of cyclical unemployment and
policies will be needed to reduce the unemployment.
3. Stabilization policies, government policies intended to maintain full
employment and a reasonably stable price level, can be used.
a. Expansionary fiscal and monetary policies can be used.
4. There is a tradeoff between reducing unemployment and increasing
the price level.
a. If the economy is at full employment, expansionary policies will
simply increase the price level and leave output unchanged.
5. Despite the use of stabilization policies, we still observe cyclical
movements in the unemployment rate and price level.
a. These fluctuations occur because it is difficult to know how much
to change variables such as government spending when using
stabilization policy and because it is difficult to use stabilization
policy in a timely manner.

B. Reducing Structural Unemployment

1. Policy suggestions to reduce structural unemployment include
providing government training programs to the structurally
unemployed, paying subsidies to firms that provide training to
displaced workers, helping the structurally unemployed to relocate to
areas where jobs exist and inducing prospective workers to continue or
resume their education.
C. Reducing Frictional Unemployment
1. Policy suggestions to reduce frictional unemployment include
establishing a computerized national job bank that would provide job
seekers and prospective employers with better information and
implementing apprenticeship programs similar to those used in Austria
and Germany.

Reduce unemployment benefits. Lower benefits will encourage people to take

a job quicker.
Slightly lower the qualifications needed for work (ex: needs work experience
first before getting a job. How about the fresh graduates? Getting the job they
wanted will be hard due to this illogical reason.
Reducing Occupational Immobility
Reducing occupational immobility is one possible solution that can be
applied to the Philippines. There is an oversupply of workers and a good
amount of graduates every year who fall into unemployment. By enlisting
them in retraining courses, they can gain new skills that are necessary to
garner them a place in the workforce.
Employment Subsidies
Subsidizing employers that employ unemployed workers can help address
the problem of unemployment in the Philippines. However, this method
can place a strain on the government budget, depending on how much
subsidies the government provides
