Language Support in OFM
Language Support in OFM
OFM supports English, Spanish, and Russian languages. By default, OFM selects a language
based on your operating system language.
If OFM selects Spanish or Russian as the default language, the first time you run OFM, the
system will ask if you prefer to run OFM in English. If you choose English, OFM you must
restart OFM to open it in English.
When working in OFM, remember:
• You can create a new workspace in any supported language from PI/Dwights data, but
the workspace that is created will contain English table and column names.
• WBD equipment is not translated to the Russian or Spanish languages.
• The forecast calculated phase type, Well Deliverability, is not translated to the Russian or
Spanish languages.
The files supporting languages are in separate folders in the OFM installation directory.
• Russian files are in the ru folder
• Spanish files are in the es folder
It is possible to use Spanish or Russian names when building your workspace, including:
• Table names
• Column names
• Analyses
• Calculated variables
• Date labels
• Catalog items
However, if your workspace may be shared among users who run OFM in other languages,
we recommend limiting the characters in those names to the English character set so the
characters will be valid in all supported languages.
