02 Covid Deaths Reported today (26)

27 Covid Deaths Reported from 20th to 25th May
The Director General of Health Services confirmed 02 deaths that occurred today (26 May) due
to Covid-19 virus infection. Apart from that, 27 Covid – 19 deaths that occurred between 20th
to 25th May were also confirmed. Of them 02 deaths were reported on 20th May and 01 death
on the 21st May, 04 deaths on the 22nd May, 07 deaths each on 23th May and 24th May and 6
deaths on the 25th May were reported. Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19
infection in Sri Lanka is 1298 by now.

01. The deceased is a 73 year old male resident in Kaluthara North. He died on 26.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in a private hospital. The cause of death is Covid
pneumonia.

02. The deceased is a 20 year old female resident in Haliela. She died on 24.05.2021 while
undergoing treatments in General Hospital Badulla. The cause of death is Cardio
Pulmonary arrest followed by hypoxia worsened by cardiopulmonary abnormalities and
COVID 19 respiratory tract infection.

03. The deceased is a 75 year old female resident in Haliela. She died on 24.05.2021 while
undergoing treatments in General Hospital Badulla. The cause of death is COVID
Pneumonia contributed by Asthma and Hypertension.

04. The deceased is a 67 year old male resident in Mawathagama. He died on 22.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in General Hospital Kurunegala. The cause of death is
mentioned as COVID 19, Hypertension and Obstructive Uropathy.

05. The deceased is a 62 year old female resident in Kurunegala. She died on 22.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in General Hospital Kurunegala. The cause of death is
mentioned as Complication of COVID 19 infection.

06. The deceased is a 78 year old male resident in Galgamuwa. He died on 23.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Galgamuwa. The cause of death is
mentioned as Complication of COVID 19 infection.

07. The deceased is a 55 year old male resident in Minuwangoda. He died on 22.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in General Hospital Kurunegala. The cause of death is
mentioned as COVID 19 infection.
08. The deceased is a 71 year old female resident in Maspotha. She died on 23.05.2021 on
admission to General Hospital Kurunegala. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID
19 infection with Diabetes Mellitus, Cardiac Failure and Hypertension.

09. The deceased is a 52 year old male resident in Kekunagolla. He died on 20.05.2021 on
admission to General Hospital Kurunegala. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID
19 infection, Chronic Kidney Disease.

10. The deceased is an 84 year old female resident in Polgahawela. She died on 23.05.2021
in her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID 19 infection.

11. The deceased is a 64 year old male resident in Kurunegala. He died on 21.05.2021 while
undergoing treatments in General Hospital Kurunegala. The cause of death is
mentioned as COVID 19 infection and heart disease.

12. The deceased is a 94 year old male resident in Anguruwathota. He died on 25.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Horana. The cause of death is mentioned
as COVID 19 pneumonia.

13. The deceased is an 86 year old male resident in Gonapola. He died on 23.05.2021 on
admission to Base Hospital Horana. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID 19
chest infection and complication.

17. The deceased is a 65 year old female resident in Nawalapitiya. She died on 24.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in District General Hospital Nawalapitiya. The cause of
death is mentioned as COVID pneumonia.

18. The deceased is an 86 year old female resident in Rattota. She died on 22.05.2021 in
her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as complications of heart disease with
COVID 19 infection.

19. The deceased is a 60 year old male resident in Rattota. He died on 25.05.2021 while
undergoing treatments in District General Hospital Mathale. The cause of death is
mentioned as Cardio respiratory arrest due to COVID Pneumonia.
 20. The deceased is an 84 year old male resident in Koswatta. He died on 25.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is
mentioned as Meningoencephalitis with COVID Pneumonia and Diabetes Mellitus.

21. The deceased is a 55 year old male resident in Malwana. He died on 23.05.2021 while
undergoing treatments in National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned
as COVID 19 Pneumonia, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus and heart Disease.

22. The deceased is a 63 year old male resident in Mattakkuliya. He died on 23.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is
mentioned as COVID 19 Pneumonia, Hypertension and heart Disease.

23. The deceased is a 67 year old female resident in Mattakkuliya. She died on 24.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is
mentioned as COVID Pneumonia, Diabetes Mellitus and Chronic Kidney disease.

24. The deceased is a 75 year old male resident in Nawalapitiya. He died on 24.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in National Institute of Nephrology Dialysis
Transplantation. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID 19 Pneumonia, Diabetes
and Chronic Kidney Disease.

25. The deceased is a 59 year old male resident in Colombo 15. He died on 26.05.2021
while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is
mentioned as COVID Pneumonia.

26. The deceased is a 46 year old female resident in Colombo 14. She died on 23.05.2021
in her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia and
