A man divorces his wife in her absence and she learns of it later…
Shaikh Ibn ‘Uthaimeen: The pronouncement of divorce is valid even if the news of that
is not conveyed to the wife. So if a man pronounced the divorce by saying: “I have
divorced my wife.” Then his wife is considered divorced from him regardless of whether
she knows of his pronouncement or does not know. If she comes to know of it after three
menstrual periods, then her waiting period (‘iddah) has come to an end.
