Only use Schmitz original parts for retrofitting or repair.

Assembly, general
Moving parts and joints are to be lightly lubricated with Teflon
grease.

When the motors are dismounted, the detached frames or

columns can fall down and cause injury. Before dismantling,
secure moving parts from falling.

The note “Loctite 242” in the explosion drawing means:

This screw connection is secured with Loctite 242. The same
applies for “Loctite 243” and “Loctite 638”.

General

Built-in batteries
If the built-in batteries are charged, several adjustments may be
carried out in the event of a power failure.

The batteries are charged automatically when the power plug is

connected and the main switch is turned on.

The delivery bed should be connected to the wall outlet at all times
to keep the batteries fully charged. The battery level is displayed by
the battery level indicator. The battery level indicator can be found
at the rear of the main section. For battery operation and when the
main switch is on, an LED on the charge display lights up after
15 seconds and indicates the charge level of the battery.

– The green LED means that the batteries are full.

– The yellow LED indicates half-empty batteries.
– The red LED indicates almost empty batteries. Connect
the delivery bed to the mains as soon as possible.

Handheld controller
The handheld controller can be plugged into the sockets on The connectors are asymmetrical to prevent
the left or right side. misalignment. Take care to align the connectors
properly. If necessary, turn the plug before inserting.

• In order to connect the handheld controllers to the delivery

bed, insert the plugs of the handheld controllers into the
sockets on the left and right side of the bed until they snap into
place.
• Hang the handheld controllers in the loops at the sides of the
delivery bed when not in use.

The handheld controller has an LED on the control panel that indicates
the operating state of the delivery bed by the way it lights up.

The delivery bed is intended for supporting an expectant mother

before and during childbirth.

It consists of a main section and a foot section, which are

adjustable independently of each other. The extensive adjustment
options permit a large variety of applications.

Description of the appliance

Safety devices

The delivery bed is equipped with automatic safety devices to

prevent operator errors.

A limit switch inside the housing under the back (see "Motor cover,
bottom" on page 16) stops the downward motion of the main
section as soon as the main section contacts the foot section or
other objects. In this event, a further lowering of the main section
is no longer possible.

During the lowering of the back section, a mechanical protection

against snagging is active in the lower quarter. It stops the
downward movement by the motor. In this case, the only forces
acting upon the backrest are its own dead weight and the patient's
weight.
