The Sisters

Bethany and Elizabeth are sisters but, they have completely different life stories. Double

Identity by Margaret Peterson Haddix is a compelling mystery about these two sisters. They have two

different last names. One of the girls is a gymnast and one is a swimmer but, they are both good at

gymnastics. The girls live in two different times periods but, have the same parents. They look really

closely alike but, they also are different.

Elizabeth and Bethany were both good at gymnastics but, they would not let Bethany do

gymnastics. So they let Bethany do swimming instead. When Elizabeth did gymnastics she fell and got

a small scare under her left eye. Since Bethany could never do gymnastics so she does not have a small

scare below her left eye. Elizabeth did not like swimming because she got pushed or shoved in and did

not like water ever since that accident. She would never even dip her toe in the water at a swimming

pool. Bethany loves to be in the water. She love to swim. When Elizabeth was alive her mother

allowed her to go to sleepovers and pushed her to do stuff, but Bethany could not do that. Her parents

never let Bethany go to sleepovers or anything like that her parents always made an excuse they did not

want her to be out of their sight. Bethany thinks her parents never let here out of their sight because,

they did not want to have another daughter killed. They both have a different last name even though

they are sisters. Bethany last name is Cole as for Elizabeth last name is Krull. Elizabeth was spunky,

outgoing, confident, and talkative. Were as Bethany is quiet, more subtle, likes to daydream and likes to

hide behind her glasses and underwater while she is a swimming. Elizabeth likes to exaggerate stuff

when she tells stories were Bethany just likes to say the straight story. They both love to do a lot of

stuff differently.
 The young women do have some similarities. The girls had a growth spurt around the same

time. This is extremely cool but, it is also weird. Bethany has the same hazel eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes,

nose, mouth, freckles, blonde hair, and heart-shaped face structure as Elizabeth. They are both sisters

even though they each have a different last name. They never met each other though. Even though they

are sisters Bethany thinks she is a clone of Elizabeth. The daughters both like to use big words. They

both have the same acquaintance Joss. The girls both have natural abilities in gymnasts. Bethany loves

to swim in front of all kinds of people and Elizabeth like to do competitions in front of people.

Elizabeth loved to show off on camera her gymnastics, meanwhile Bethany loved to show off at home

doing cartwheels and somersaults off the couch. The girls just liked to do the same stuff.

The girls look alike by their facial features but, they are like to do different stuff. They are

sisters although, they never met. The young women both love to do gymnastics. Bethany and Elizabeth

like to tell stories. They are kind and elegant young women.
