Samuel Enrique Vasquez-Moreira, 32 years old, from Long Pond Pennsylvania

SUMMARY OF DETAILS: On 5/26/2021, Vasquez-Moreira was traveling west bound on State

Route 940 in a Toyota Pick up truck. Vasquez-Moreira then drifted out of his lane, over
the median barrier and into the east bound lanes. Vasquez-Moreira then traveled off
the south side of the roadway striking the fuel pumps at C & C Performance. The vehicle
and the fuel pumps then caught fire. The fuel was immediately shut off by the owner of
C & C Performance. The accident was witnessed by Richard and Walter Price of Ray Price
Ford, along with an off duty detective from the Pocono Mountain Regional Police. The
three ran to the accident and found Vasquez-Moreira unresponsive. They then pulled
him from the vehicle. At the same time, a Patrol Officer with the Pocono Mountain
Regional Police observed the fire and set up an emergency scene. Vasquez-Moreira was
flow from the scene by Med-Evac. The fire was extinguished by the Pocono Summit and
Coolbaugh Township Vol. Fire Depts. The pick-up was fully consumed. The investigation
into the cause of the accident is on-going. Portions of State Route 940 were shut down
during the response.
