Assignment for Week 9 - Option 1: Playshop

Watching No Top being affected by the reflexes of the crisis caused by the COVID-19

pandemic, we immediately have to ask ourselves how to manage a company in times of crisis.

Looking at the financial impact generated on consumers can be a way of predicting how

the market will be affected, since, with measures of removal and reduction of their purchasing

power, how people stop consuming.

Something that should be made clear is that the competitors are facing the same crisis, so

the one who plans, developing a better coping strategy, can stand out, reaching the end of this

period of turbulence stronger than it entered.

Moments of crisis drive changes, both on the part of the market, which is directly

impacted by what is happening in the world, and on the part of companies, which need to adapt

to new trends. From behavior change to creation and adherence to new technologies, it is

important to always be ahead.

After evaluating everything that was said, I based my strategies on the following three

leadership guidelines:

Ethics: Ethics is important and essential for there to be balance in a society because it teaches us

to reflect on our actions if we follow the rules and norms necessary for good coexistence in

society if we respect the other if we are honest, honest, and just if we do what is right even when

no one is. Analyzing this guideline, I realize that I cannot ignore every year that people dedicated
themselves to To the Top and simply dismiss them to reduce costs, we need to take into account

how our decisions and actions can affect everyone's life.

Authenticity: Analyze the situation with empathy to try to understand the feelings and emotions

of others, putting myself in the place of teachers, as we need to understand the difficulties that

may exist for each one and try to reduce conflicts.

Creativity: In my view, a crisis situation is an opportunity to develop and take a step beyond

what I thought possible. When we are in this situation, using creativity is what allows us to adapt

better to changes and new expectations, betting on diversity.

Dear Chantal,

That the world economy is in crisis, we all already know, but despite this troubled economic

scenario, we cannot give up and hand over the points, so I developed a plan to help TOPO save

money based on three guidelines for leadership success:

To help On the Top overcome this crisis, I developed two plans, one to reduce costs by avoiding

layoffs and the other focusing on financial recovery.

Cost Reduction Plan:

Loss of customers, declines in sales, non-renewal of contracts are reflections of the crisis,

which ultimately results in layoffs. In view of the drop in our revenues, the need to reduce costs

and wanting to avoid layoffs, reducing the value of hours ends up being seen as an alternative.
The basic idea would be for a temporary 10% reduction in the hourly value of all On the

Top employees only during the pandemic period. With the 10% reduction in hours, the goal of $

5,000 would be achieved and would guarantee the life of the company. To avoid any conflict and

injustice among the team, this reduction would involve all positions in the company.

The plan would be a way to try to improve the company's financial situation without

having to fire any of the employees.

It is important to say that this reduction in the value of employees' hours would be

reassessed month by month, depending on the situation of the pandemic in the country. As the

reduction in the value of hours has a fixed term, the team will not be discouraged.

The objective of this plan is to avoid any dismissal at such a delicate moment that we are

living. We see wage reduction as an alternative for maintaining jobs, basing our actions on

guidelines for ethics, authenticity, and creativity.

Financial Recovery Plan:

To increase To the Top's revenue, I created a plan called "Buy 1 Get 1" encouraging

students who are already part of the school to try new classes during the pandemic. Thus,

increasing the chances of these students enrolling in two or three different classes.

For students who left during the pandemic, the program would be "Back to school". In

this plan, the student enrolls in a class and wins a free class in another modality of his choice.

And to attract new students, the strategy would be "BFF - Best Friend Forever". This plan

encourages our students to refer friends and so students would get three free classes in any

modality of their choice.

After evaluating some suggestions, I see that the reduction in the value of the lessons is

not valid as we do not run the risk of reducing our revenue. All strategies aim to encourage

students to take more than one class modality at school, moving all classes and keeping students

and teachers motivated by seeing classes with a larger number of students.

I believe that these are the best strategies to increase revenue and reduce expenses with

the least possible impact on our work environment.

Best Regards.

Marco.
