You have attended a meeting on the repercussions of Covid-19. Write a report on that meeting.

The meeting on the repercussions of covid 19 was held Monday,March 22,2021. The meeting
was called at 10:00 am and there was 21members.

This meeting was split into several major topic areas.

The first topic was the repercussions on solid waste generation and management strategies,It
has been over ten months since the beginning of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-2019), and its
impact on solid waste management, especially medical waste, is becoming clearer. This study
systematically reviews the potential influences of the COVID-19 pandemic on medical waste,
personal protection equipment waste and municipal solid waste (MSW), and discusses the
corresponding measures and policies of solid waste management in typical countries. The results
show that the generation of medical waste from the pandemic increased significantly, with 18%–
425% growth.

The second topic was about the repercussions on mental health. The rapid transmission and
mortality risk of the COVID-19 infection may increase the risk of mental health problems among
healthy individuals in the general public and worsen preexisting psychiatric problems in psychiatric
patients, although data are still being gathered. A constellation of difficult feelings and psychological
distress, including panic, worries, and depression, could be triggered by the fear of possible infection,
being quarantined at hospitals and home, social isolation, and even the shortage of protective gear.
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an
unprecedented challenge to public health, food systems and the world of work. The economic and
social disruption caused by the pandemic is devastating: tens of millions of people are at risk of
falling into extreme poverty, while the number of undernourished people, currently estimated at
nearly 690 million, could increase by up to 132 million by the end of the year.

In conclusion, Now is the time for global solidarity and support, especially with the most
vulnerable in our societies, particularly in the emerging and developing world. Only together can we
overcome the intertwined health and social and economic impacts of the pandemic and prevent its
escalation into a protracted humanitarian and food security catastrophe, with the potential loss of
already achieved development gains.
