84% of people with internet access use social networks.

This has triggered communication

networks to become a tool that allows collaborative learning and fosters interpersonal
interactions, therefore, social networks should be used as a learning strategy for an educational
transformation.

First, the experts affirm that the digital revolution increases the expansion of various types of
social networks or virtual communities. This is due to the increase in information and activities
that can be carried out on social networks, such as product reviews, current news, books, games
and activities that require chatting and sharing professional or hobby information. In addition, the
roles of students and teachers have changed, which implies the adaptation of learning and
teaching strategies, which includes the implementation of new tools. Therefore, communication
networks must be implemented to advance educational learning.

On the other hand, opponents say that social media distracts students and does not allow
adequate concentration when studying. However, this is not true, since in most of the times
students can find support in the use of social networks, for example they can exchange relevant
information with the teacher or with the students, making the class more productive, Therefore,
removing the communication networks would generate a communication and interaction problem
in this period. Despite the fact that some people agree with eliminating social networks from
learning, I believe that learning must advance with the tools that exist today.

In short, the use of social networks for learning should be considered as a viable tool because it is
a learning tool and helps students' interpersonal relationships. That is why I believe that if
education took a more open mind to the use of new modern tools, the learning strategy would
improve.
