• Flexi Multi radio BTS with LTE software is a 3GPP LTE eNB macro BTS site
solution.
• Flexi Multi radio BTS introduces a new way to build BTS sites using modules,
without a specific BTS cabinet.
• Due to its small weight and size, modular design and full frontal accessibility.
• Flexi architecture provides a smooth evolution from WCDMA/HSPA to LTE,
without compromising performance or capacity.
• A Flexi Multi radio BTS consists of one Remote Radio Head (Or RF Module) per
frequency band and one System Module with a transmission sub module.
• The same Multi radio modules are used in both WCDMA/HSPA and LTE indoor
and outdoor sites.
• All modules can be accessed from the front, are outdoor weather protected and
fresh air cooled.
• Flexi System Module with Transmission Module, 3-sector RF Module and
Remote Radio Head are IP65-classified outdoor modules.
• Flexi Multiradio BTS LTE can also be mentioned as Flexi eNB.
• Flexi Multi radio BTS System Module hosts the telecom control,
system operation and maintenance, baseband application,
transmission, and power distribution functionality.
• The System Module can also act as a System Extension Module
operating in a baseband extension mode (future software feature
candidate).
• Flexi Multi radio System Module hardware supports the following
software operating modes:
• WCDMA dedicated mode
• LTE dedicated mode
• It has multiband support, i.e. RF Modules for different frequency
bands can be connected to the same System Module.
• The System Module has an integrated BTS clock that distributes the
synchronization clocks to other BTS modules.
• The System Module uses nominal -48 V DC and distributes it on to RF and
System Extension Modules. The System Module includes integrated fans.
• The System Module can be used, for example, for the following software
functionalities:
• BTS level O&M processing (BTSOM)
• Resource management
• Node B server
• NBAP handler
• User plane management
• The power supply of the System Module is described in the tables below. The
same power consumption figures also apply for the System Extension Module.
Power consumption of the FSME (not including transmission) and FSME used as a System Extension Module
