I. Course: Master of Arts in Education; Major in Educational


Management

II. Course Title: Comparative Education

III. Course Credit: 3 units

IV. Course Description:

This course is a comparative study of the educational philosophy and goals, status
and laws on education, systems and structures, programs and strategies in various
countries with emphasis on the educational systems of the Western and Asian
countries.

V. General Course Objectives:

After completing the course, students should be able to :


- Create an awareness of the nature and scope of Comparative Education.
- Introduce recent development of ideas among comparative educationalists.
- Consider the basic principles and analysis of educational systems of different
Western and Asian Countries.

VI. Specific Course Objectives:


For the successful completion of he course, students are expected to:
- Survey the development ideas among comparative educationalists about their
purposes and methods.
- Critically review the method of inquiry in comparative education.
- Experience and acquire competence in the use of the tools of the comparative
educationalists such as area of studies, prediction and data manageability.

X. Attendance
Students are required to attend the 3 hour-session class.

XI. Vocabulary
Students are expected to understand the terms used in the various comparative
methods of educational systems under study and be able to explain the meaning.
