The students are going to be able to:
 Practice conversations to develop listening and speaking skills;
 Be able to start a conversation with a classmate and making introductions;
 Understand and use linking sounds;
 Introduce themselves to each other;
 Use vocabulary of ways of greetings around the world;
STRUCTURAL GOALS
The students are going to be able to:
 Practice and create statements with the verb to be and contractions;
 Understand the use of simple present tense of “to be” and possessive adjectives
in answers and questions;
PROCEDURES
The students will:
 Listen the song “Just the way you are” by Bruno Mars as a warm-up, then ask
questions about subjects contained in the song lyrics as an introduction to the
grammar focus;
 Practice the dialogs provided in the book changing the information with their
own whenever necessary;
 Listen to cd to answer the activities provided in the textbook;
 Practice free conversations using the information on the conversations from the
book;
 Watch the Interchange Dvd and discuss the subject by asking and giving
information based on the video;
 Answer the grammar activities after the explanation from the teacher;
 Speak different ways of greetings around the world and let the students practice
them;

EDUCATIONAL GOALS
The students are going to:
 Discuss and learn about jobs and the activities people usually do in their jobs;
 Practice conversations about jobs and daily schedules;
 Learn about syllable stress;
 Develop listening, speaking and writing skills throughout group conversations;
 Read and discuss an article about jobs and develop skills in reading for specific
information;
STRUCTURAL GOALS
The students are going to:
 Practice and create statements with the verb to be and contractions;
 Simple present statements and Wh-questions with “to be”;
 Use adverbs of time and use correct syllable stress during conversations;
PROCEDURES
The students will:
 Watch a Dvd movie scene with a job interview and discuss the scene to start
talking about jobs and daily routines;
 Answer the exercises in the book;
 Listen to the cd with books closed at the first time, then discuss what they
listened and after this, they can open the book and check the information;
 Practice the conversations in pairs or groups of three, changing the information
in the conversations with their own when necessary;
 Talk to each other about workplaces and activities people do in each profession
and let them complement when necessary;
 Listen to the cd to answer the activities provided in the book;

 Form two lines in front of each other so that the students stay in front of the each

 Discuss and learn about colors and their meanings in people’s moods;

 Develop listening, speaking and writing skills throughout group conversations;
 Read and discuss an article about internet shopping;

 Practice and create statements using demonstratives and one/ones;
 Learn and practice vocabulary for clothes and materials;
 Understand how to use adjectives to compare things and to show preferences;
 write a paragraph comparing prices;
PROCEDURES
 Show papers of different colors and ask them what they feel when they see the
colors and talk about color preferences;
 Listen to the cd with books closed at the first time, then we discuss what they
listened and after this, they can open the book and check the information;
 Answer the exercises in the book about comparison and correct them;
 Work with each other the sentence stress;
 Check some flyers of advertisements from C&A and Riachuelo to explain how
to talk about prices, preferences and how to compare things;
 Role-play and practice the conversations in pairs or groups of three, changing
the information in the conversations with their own when necessary;

 Learn and practice the intonation in questions;
 Develop listening, speaking and writing skills throughout group conversations;
 Read and discuss an article about a singer, Christina Aguilera, and listen to one
of her greatest hits, a song called “Beautiful”;
STRUCTURAL GOALS
The students are going to:
 Understand and pratice yes/no questions and Wh-questions with do/does;
 Learn vocabulary for types of music and entertainment using would and verb to
be for hypothetical situations;
PROCEDURES
The students will:
 Watch a musical in dvd with different performances of various singers and styles
to start a discussion as a warm-up for the first two classes, using the vocabulary
learned during the classes;
 Answer the exercises provided in the book in the grammar focus section;
 Role-play a conversation about music preferences using their own information
when necessary;
 Talk about music and entertainment and work in pairs to practice the exercise in
the book about music preferences;
 Do the writing activity with the students about electronic messages and the way
to make simple using different symbols and abbreviations;
 Have the mid-term test;
