Using ICT in teaching – Web2 Tools
Purpose
The course is appropriate for classroom
teachers of every school level. It pro-
vides educators with basic theoretical
aspects of ICT (Information and
Communications Technology), e-learn-
ing, analyzing the modern aspects of
educational technology with special
references to specific Web2 tools that
can be used in teaching.
Hands-on activities throughout the
whole course duration ensure that
everything is well understood and
participants will be able to use effi-
ciently everything that is discussed dur-
ing the course.
There is no prior knowledge required,
as this course starts from scratch intro-
ducing everything.
Educators will be able to use online
storage spaces for their files, create
online docs, spreadsheets, presenta-
tions and forms, edit them simultane-
ously in collaboration with other online
users, collect form results, create post-
ers, arrange polls and publish small
notes available to selected user on the
net, and finally build their own website
containing multimedia content.

DAY 1
 Introductory meeting, explanation of practical
arrangements, presentation of timetable, information
about course venue.
 Icebreakers, Introduction to the Course.
 ICT: definition, evolution and effects on society and
teaching.
 E-learning: Main aspects, advantages and disadvantages.
 Collaborative working on-line: The google apps
environment.
 Google drive: Environment, uploading, downloading and
managing files and folders.
 Hands-on activities including creating a google user, a
google doc, uploading and downloading files and working
collaboratively online on the same document.
DAY 2
 Keeping your work safe: versioning docs on google drive,
avoiding losing previous work, differences from file
versioning on google docs, sheets and presentations.
 Access managing on online files and folders, sharing
process.
 Working with documents online.
 Working on a spreadsheet online.
 Hands-on activity using documents and spreadsheets,
sharing files with various access rights depending on user,
creating groups.
DAY 3
 Searching for information on-line, plagiarism.
 Creating on-line presentations.
 Using resources in presentation, like photos, sound, video,
links.
 Creating a poster on-line using Canva.
 Creating an on-line poll using Doodle.
 Posting small notes using Padlet.
 Hands-on activities working on presentations, creating
posters, creating on-line polls and posting notes on Padlet.

 Hands-on activities designing and creating a form,
collecting and downloading results, sharing and
locking/unlocking of form.
DAY 5
 Creating a simple website using Weebly.
 User accounts in Weebly, different types of users.
 Templates and main site pages.
 Tools used to add content and change layout of pages.
 Adding text, photos, lists, columns, videos in a page.
 Connecting with youtube and embedding videos.
 Embedding a google map.
 Hands-on activity creating a website from scratch adding
content depending on personal requirements and topic
selection.
