Continuous and STAT testing capability is achieved by separating the sampling area from the test processing area. All areas ate controlled by the same software, yet operate independently of one another. This makes it possible to add or remove samples, reagents, and most of the consumables at any time without interrupting tests in process. NOTE: For instructions on how to apply the Sample Gauge labels to the Sample Segments, refer to the instructions that accompany the Sample Gauge labels. On the Primary Tube Segment Sample Gauge Label, the Minimum Clot/Gel Height Line is as far down as the Sampling Probe can travel in that segment. ‘The actual Clot/Gel height can be higher or lower than that line as long as there is: ‘+ aminimum of one-half inch of sample above the Clot/Gel ‘+ enough sample volume as defined in the AxSYM Assay- specific Package Insert + enough sample above the Minimum Clot/Gel Height for sample aspiration If using an Aliquot Tube Segment, verify that the Clot or Gel Height is at or above the “Minimum Sample Height” line. Verify that the serum/plasma sample height is at least 1/2” above the Clot or Gel Height to ensure that the probe will not aspirate red cells, gel, fibrin, or particulate matter (assuming, the tube has been handled and centrifuged according to the tube manufacturers’ instructions). Verify that the minimum sample volume requirement listed in the AXSYM Assay-specific Package Insert is followed. If the sample meets the above requirements, carefully load it into the sample segment making sure that the bar code label is facing the inner curve of the sample segment and does not extend beyond the opening in the segment. NOTE: If the bar code label is not properly placed on the sample tube, then the read may be unsuccessful. After three unsuccessful reads of a bar code label, the Sampling Center will stop.
