III. Essential Questions/Subject Matter/Content

- Do you know what veganism is?
- Do you know anyone vegan?
- Do you know what vegans can and can t eat?
- Do you know why someone would go vegan?

IV. Procedures/Strategies/Methodology:

A. Introduction
First I will ask everyone what they think Veganism is and have them write it down on a
piece of paper. Then I will show a slide of various foods and they ll have to guess which
ones are vegan or not. They will do this by using the sign I give them that says vegan
on one side and non vegan on the other side. These two activities will help me get an
understanding of how much everyone knows about Veganism. Then I will show a video
about what a vegan is and why they can eat so they can better understand veganism as
a whole.

B. Development
After the video, everyone will have a good understanding of Veganism. I will then share
the actual definition of veganism. Now that they understand what Veganism is, everyone
will write a reason as to why they think someone would go vegan. I will then explain the
four most common reasons someone would go vegan, in depth. Afterwards I will explain
the most common misconceptions and myths about veganism, in depth.

C. Closure
For my closure I will have everyone answer the question of whether they would ever
consider going vegan or not. They will have to go to either the yes, no or maybe signs I
will have hung around the room. Once they ve chosen their answer they will have to
explain their answer.

D. Accommodations/Differentiation
For the virtual students, I will put photos on google stream of everything they will need
to participate in the activities. Such as the vegan and non vegan sign, and the yes, no,
or maybe signs. If they can t access these on the google stream they can just hold up a
finger to let me know their answers to all the questions in the activities.

E. Assessment/Evaluation Plan
1. Formative
- Throughout the presentation I will have questions that the students will need to
answer by writing them on an index card.
2. Summative
- When I ask at the end of the lesson if they would ever consider going vegan, they
will use all the information they got from the lesson to answer that question and
explain their answer.

V. Reflective Response

A. Report of Students Performance in terms of state objectives
