Reasons the D375A-5 ripping production is superior to the D10R

D10R shoe slip occurs easily
• D10R undercarriage structure consists of front and
Main bogie
rear idlers with a bogie. When a load is applied Caterpillar
during ripper work, the rear idlers go up, shortening
the length of track on ground causing shoe slip.
Consequently:
• D10R traction force is decreased and production is
also decreased.
• Operator comfort deteriorates.
• Undercarriage wear progresses faster. Rock FLD00526

Upon application of a load, the length of

track on ground lessens immediately and shoes slip.

Excellent ripper point visibility

• D375A-5's design concept is that "it is a matter of force), when durability is taken into consideration,
course with a machine being used for ripping that a simple profile like that of D375A-5's fuel tanks
the ripper point can be seen" and we have kept the should be more preferable. It is doubtful if
basic design (low drive) with better visibility versus sufficient durability can be expected with the
the high drive design of the D10R which sacrifices profile of the D10R fuel tanks, particularly when
rear visibility. operating on severe work sites.
• The fact that D10R has long been sacrificing rear
visibility proves differences in design concept with D375A-5 D10R
D375A-5, and it can be assumed that D10R sticks
to the idea that "the ripper point does not have to Ripper point visible 0

tank used for the R Series models cannot be
considered to provide the visibility equal to that of
D375A-5 counterparts.
Eye point
• It may even be possible that the D10R fuel tank
design is merely meant to maintain the visibility of
the R Series machine, maintaining the central part of
the fuel tank profile at the same elevation but raising
the elevation of both sides to augment the tank
capacity, thus resulting to a center notched profile.

User Benefits for PCCS

★ Preset Travel Speed Selection Function

Preset travel speed selection function is standard Heavy Load
equipment, enabling the operator to select fore
and aft travel speed among three preset patterns
such as F1-R2, F2-R2 and manual shift (F1-R1).
When F1-R2 or F2-R2 preset pattern is selected,
F1-R2
and travel control joystick moves to forward/
rearward direction, the machine travels forward/
rearward with F1-R2 or F2-R2 speed
automatically. This function reduces operating
hours and operator's gear shifting time during
repeated round-trip operations.

★ Auto-shift Down Function

Controller monitors engine speed, travel gear, and
travel speed. When load is applied and machine
travel speed is reduced, the controller
automatically shifts down to optimum gear speed
to provide high fuel efficiency. This function
provides comfortable operation without manual
downshift and high productivity. (This function can
be cancelled with cancel switch.)
