ASSIGNMENT NO 2.
(DISCUSS THE COMMONALITIES BETWEEN ISLAM, CHRISTIANITY AN HINDUISM)

INTRODUCTION:
Muslims and Christians have a number of well-known distinctions. Muslims study
the sacred Quran, do not believe Jesus was divine or died on the cross, and reject
the Nicea Council's idea of the Trinity. Christians do not acknowledge Muhammad
(PBUH) as a prophet, do not observe Islamic holidays, and worship on separate
days than Muslims. Islam believes in the oneness of all people.

RITUAL PRACTICES:
Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam share numerous ritual activities like fasting and
pilgrimage, although they disagree on apostasy, idol-making, and the virtue of
Ahimsa.
Fasting is popular among Hindus on new moon days and during holidays like
Shivaratri, Saraswati Puja, and Durga Puja. Some fasts may simply demand
abstention from particular foods for a period of 40 days on the Christian calendar.

GOD THE FATHER:

Muslims and Christians believe that there is only one God and that all people are
His offspring.
Christians are monotheistic, which means they believe in a single God who
created the heavens and the earth. The parent (God himself), the son (Jesus
Christ), and the Holy Spirit make up the divine Godhead.

Muslims believe in one God, Allah - Tawhid.

Muslims can find instruction in the Qur'an on a variety of topics.

“Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and
those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining the creation in justice. There is no
deity except Him, the Exalted, in Might, the Wise.”

PROPHET:
Early prophets such as Hazrat Nooh (as), Hazrat Ibrahim (as), Hazrat Moosa (as),
Hazrat Dawood (as), Hazrat Yousuf (as), Hazrat Yahya the Baptist, and even Hazrat
Isa are revered by both religions (as).

THE BIBLE:
Christians are familiar with the Bible, but Muslims also believe the Bible to be holy
scripture insofar as it is translated correctly and does not contradict the Quran,
though Muslims believe that both the Quran and the Christian Gospel, termed
Injeel, were sent by God. Both texts offer an account of the life and works of
Jesus.

RELIGION:
Hindus, Muslims, and Christians think that following their faith is beneficial to
them now, that it promotes peace and harmony among people, and that it
provides blessings in the hereafter.

COMMANDMENTS:
Hindus, Muslims, and Christians all believe that God has given all people identical
laws to follow, and that following them sustains humanity in a good connection
with God.

BIBI MARYAM (A.S)

Bibi Maryam (a.s) was a virgin, and Prophet Isa (a.s) was miraculously born,
according to Muslims and most Christians.

MESSIAH MIRACLES:
Jesus Christ was the prophesied Messiah, according to both Islam and Christianity,
and he performed miracles.

SATAN:
Muslims, Christians, and some Hindus believe Satan is real and terrible, and that
he attempts to persuade people to follow him rather than God.
Devil, Satan, or Lucifer is a fallen angel that rebelled against God in an attempt to
become equal to God himself, and was ejected from Heaven at the beginning of
time, before God created the material world, and is always in opposition to God.
According to Islam: Shayṭān (‫ ) َشي ْٰطان‬are evil spirits in Islamic belief, inciting
humans to sin by waswasaħ (‫ َوس َْو َسة‬, “whispering”) to the heart.
As a result, they are always attempting to lure humans astray. Devils are
frequently characterised in abstract ways, and are more typically represented just
by their malevolent influences; they are shown as ugliness and horrific monsters
of hellfire.

THE RETURN: Christians and muslim faiths believe (Jesus)

“Prophet Isa (P.B.U.H) will return from Heaven.”

According to Bible:
Revelation 1:7:
Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who
pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

According to Quran:
An-Nisa, verse 159:
"And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his
death; and on the Day of Judgment he will be a witness against them."
