Dall’abstract: «L’iscrizione pubblicata e commentata in queste pagine è
stata scoperta sotto una raffigurazione di san Teodoro Tirone durante i
lavori di restauro eseguiti nella cripta di Santa Cristina a Carpignano,
non lontano da Otranto. Databile a cavaliere dei secoli X e XI, essa è no‐
tevole non soltanto per la presenza di un Amen isopsefico, ma anche
per il formulario adoperato dal committente Leonzio Zouchas (?), for‐
mulario che si distingue nettamente (inc. Ὑπὴρ εὐχῆς καὶ σωτηρίας) da
quelli in uso nello stesso santuario tra il 959 e la seconda metà dell’XI
secolo. È da notare che l’iscrizione è dipinta su un affresco precedente, i
cui residui grafici e/o ornamentali si mescolano talvolta con essa, ren‐
dendone pertanto aleatoria la lettura in alcuni punti.» Luzzi.
