STARTING WEB SYSTEM www.ipmax.it

 SETTING THE MANAGEMENT IP ADDRESS
Through the Web system, users can manage and maintain the device using the graphical user
interface (GUI). The device is installed with a built-in Web server. Thus, the user’s PC
connected to the device can access the switch through the Web browser.

In the description of this basic procedure we will assume that we are able to log in to the
switch through telnet or through the console port.

1. First of all set the management IP address Enter the configuration view

<Huawei> system-view Enter the management interface view

[Huawei] interface meth 0/0/1

[Huawei-MEth0/0/1] ip address 192.168.1.100 24
[Huawei-MEth0/0/1] quit
[Huawei] Assign the IP address to the management interface

2. Load the Web Page file

[Huawei] http server load webpage.zip

In the example webpage.zip is supposed to be the name of the web page file,
available on the switch, for the web management (the file name depends on the
switch release). This file is uploaded to the switch by the vendor.

3. Create the web account
Enable the enbedded http server

Configure local user (testweb) and password (testweb)

[Huawei] http server enable
Enter into AAA view
[Huawei] aaa
[Huawei-aaa] local-user testweb password cipher testweb Configure the http services for this user
[Huawei-aaa] local-user test1 service-type http
[Huawei-aaa] local-user test1 privilege level 3 Configure User rights
[Huawei-aaa] quit

 LOGGING INTO THE WEB SYSTEM
4. Now you can start the GUI and log in to the system
-Open the Web browser on the PC, and then enter the management address of the device in the
address bar (192.168.1.100)
-Insert user and password into the login page (shown in the picture)
-Click Login to display the homepage of the web system
