How To Have Money, Freedom AND

A Positive Impact On The World

Hey, Alex Smale here!

I'm so thrilled that you have trusted me with your email address and your time. These
sound like small things, right?

But these are precious things to give away these days. So, I just want to let you
know, I will respect both.

And congratulations on taking the first step on what could be the most incredible
journey of your life.

I'm not joking or exaggerating when I say that.

By the end of this book, you will know how to have financial, time and geographical
freedom in your life. AND to have a truly positive impact on this world and change
lives for the better while doing it.

Truly having it all.

And look, I know everyone in the world is making big, bold claims. And I'm sure
you're 3000% sceptical right now. I get it.

This could be the thing you have been looking for. Or maybe it’s not. Depends.

Just have a read and see. It’s going to give you some insight at the very least.

"That all sounds too good to be true Alex."

Ok, let us talk about that terrible, negative phrase. 'If it seems too good to be true. It
probably is.'

How many opportunities have been missed in this world because of it? How many
dreams have been crushed? How many good things have been passed over
because of this inane statement?

It's the most negative thing in the world. Let's park it for a minute.

So, for now, instead, I want you to think about this:

'If it seems too good to be true. MAYBE it isn't? MAYBE it seems good
because it IS good!'

Think on that? And read on...

QUICK overview about me
I will keep this bit super-brief just so you get an
idea of who you're listening to.

Because this book is about you, not me.

I am Alex. Married with 5-year-old twins. Plus, a 5-

year-old stepson.

Have been a digital marketer and coach for over

15 years.

Taught and mentored thousands of people all over the world on how to become
successful in the digital economy and to live their best lives.

Been homeless twice. Once as a child when my dad went bankrupt. Once as an
adult after a relationship ended. So, I'm pretty grounded.

Made computer games for 10 years. Been a pub manager, a zoo manager, a
photographer. And developed an award-winning virtual reality technology to help
people living with dementia. Search for 'Immersicare' on YouTube if you're interested
in checking that out later.

Make sure you have a hanky ready. It's a tearjerker.

My philosophy has long been that money pays the bills, and it gives you choices.

BUT, once you have enough of it. Once Mr. Amazon man has brought you the last
piece of plastic crap you could possibly need or want. You're left feeling pretty
empty.

Everyone thinks they want money until they have it. But once you have it, you realise
what you actually want is to be fulfilled.

But how do you become fulfilled? The answer to that is 'impact'.

The positive difference can you make on the world.

When all is said and done, that is what really matters.

So, in this teeny, tiny book. I am going to show you how to have both.

Money AND impact.

Without needing to have stock to sell, without a team to manage, without big
overheads, and without lots of techy skills (the 4 year old game programmer in me
has already done all of the hard part for you there).
What does impact look like?

Impact is different for everyone.

But let me share with you my own example. The way I personally have an impact on
the world.

And by doing that, I hope it will inspire to think about how you can have your own
impact and change lives for the better.

For me, the best thing about what I do is how I get to empower people to have
a positive impact.

My impact starts with that. Our organisation has an impact on the people we work
with because we give them all of the tools and skills, they need to create their own
vehicles for a better life for themselves.

We start by changing their lives first. Helping them to create an incredible new
income for themselves which allows them to have more choices, more time freedom.
To have all the things they want. Be wherever they want to be. And to have the time
to enjoy all of it.

It's awesome. But that's only the first step.

Where it gets really exciting is what they go on to do.

How they go on to help people with the problems and challenges they have using the
knowledge and experience that they have.

We are a big team. Us and our clients. Having a big positive impact on the
world together. Supporting each other and giving back.

And it all helps us to do other things. To fund cool projects. We have two right now.

One that funds wildlife projects in-

situ in the wild.

And another that funds disabled

ramps for schools in emerging
countries so that disabled kids get
the same start in life as able-bodied
kids.

Does that make me feel fulfilled?

Hell yeah!

What impact do you want to have?

What is the most valuable thing in the world?
If I was to ask you that question, what would you say?

Probably something like gold, or diamonds, or platinum, or even saffron or

something like that.

Right?

Wrong.

The most valuable thing in the world is YOU.

I want to re-calibrate your definition of 'value' just slightly. Well, a lot actually.

Y'see, gold and diamonds, they're just things. They just sit there and look pretty.

They don't actually do anything.

They don't make anyone's lives better.

They don't have a positive impact on the world.

They don't move us forward as a species.

They definitely don't make us better people. Usually the opposite actually.

So in my view, while they might be 'expensive', to me, they're worthless.

But within you, you have something that is truly priceless.

You have within you the ability to change people's lives for the better.

To be able to help people with the problems and challenges they have, using the
knowledge, experience and passion that you have.

Everything you’ve learned and achieved in your lifetime could mean the world to
someone who needs what you know.

But how do you package that up and sell it?

How do you create something that people actually need?

What are the options?
When it comes to making money online. There are a fair few options.
Each with their own pros and cons.
So even if you’re not new to this. Let me give you my 2 cents on the main ones.

Drop-Shipping/E-commerce
When most people think about making money on the internet, this is what they think
of. Importing products (usually from China) and selling them at an uplifted price on
Amazon, Ebay, Shopify etc.
There are a few unseen challenges with this option.
Most products are very competitive because you are often selling the exact same
product in the exact same place (i.e. Amazon) as 30, 50, 100 other sellers.
Which means you’re usually competiting on price.
The margins shrink because of that reason.
Furthermore, the commissions taken by Amazon and other sites are very high, so
your return rate is often single digit percentages on low cost items.
You can go down the path of developing your own products and brands, but that is
risky and expensive.

Affiliate Marketing
Selling other people’s products for a commission.
This is actually how I got started. And still have a small amount of income from this
stream.
But with affiliate marketing, you’re only ever making a percentage of the overall sale,
even though you’re paying all of the advertising cost.
So again, the margins are relatively small.
There is also usually a lag between making a sale and being paid. As the company
you’re promoting will usually pay you for the month, the month after you’ve made a
sale. i.e. two months later.
And for me, the worst part has always been being at the mercy of the vendor. They
can change their product or service whenever they like without warning. Which can
break everything you’ve built to sell it.
Course Creation
A popular choice now is creating online courses.
Usually you will record a load of training videos and sell your course for $297 or
$497, sometimes more.
It is actually a really good option.
In fact, I believe most people should do this.
BUT…
Not at first.
This is because it will take, on average, somewhere between 4 and 9 months of hard
work to create a sellable online course.
And, you could spend 9 months creating that course, only to find out that it’s not
really what people want and you can’t sell it.
Nightmare!
So in the next few pages, I’ll show you how to create a course the easy and right
way while making money as you create it.

Freelancing
Another option for making money online is freelancing.
Doing odd-jobs for people on a particular subject.
For example, website building or logo design.
This can suit some people but it’s very work intensive, and very time-for-money
constrained.
i.e. You can only earn as much as time will permit.
Again, there is a lot of competition for very similar work and most freelancers will ‘bid’
for jobs on freelancing websites. Which drives down the overall return.
Not ideal.
And if you have a good skill like that, there’s actually a better way to benefit from that
skill which I will explain on the next page…
So what is the best option Alex???
Well, it’s none of those last four.
For me, right now, the best option for making money online is online coaching.
Helping people to solve the problems and challenges they have with the knowledge,
experience and passion that you have.
Why?
• Because you can start right away
• You don’t need to buy product stock in advance
• Everyone is unique so you’re never competing directly
• It’s very rewarding and fulfilling
• It’s highly profitable
• You can have a BIG impact on the world
I’ve personally done all of those other four options and nothing comes close to online
coaching. It’s just amazing on all fronts. It really is.
But if you want to be successful as an online coach, it isn’t easy unless you’ve got
the right formula and the right setup.
And because I’m super nice and want to have a big impact on the world. I’m just
plain going to tell you what that formula and setup is for free right here.

How to Sell What You Know™

I’m not going to waffle. I’m going to get straight into the good stuff.
So if this is sounding good so far. Here’s how to actually do this.
There are five key steps to having a successful online coaching income:
1. You need a good coaching offer structure
2. You need to build trust with your audience
3. You need to be able to advertise effectively
4. You need to be able to sell authentically
5. You need to know how to build a good program
Offer, trust, advertising, sales, fulfilment. That’s it.
We’re going to break all five of these down for you on the next few pages.
1. Your Offer
How do you structure a great online coaching offer?
The key things you need to make sure your offer has are:
High perceived value
Your offer needs to be appealing and exciting for your audience. Something a bit
different. Something that clearly solves the problem they have.
Broken down into steps
Your audience needs to understand HOW they’ll get the result you’re offering,
otherwise they won’t buy from you.
Think of it like crossing a river.
They’re on this side of the river right now (with a problem), but they want to be on the
other side of the river (without the problem).
If you break your offer down into easy to understand, chunkable steps. They become
stepping stones across the ‘river’ that they can see and understand.
And importantly, believe in.
Your audience can then see “Ah ha, I can see how I can cross the river now. I can
see myself over the other side if I follow your five steps across. Let’s do it!”.
Just like I’m showing you the five steps to creating an online coaching program right
now.
Something you’re passionate about
This one is the most important of all.
A lot of people will choose their coaching offer based on what they think the market
wants. Not what they want.
Maybe because they think it will make more money.
Or they’re worried about competition (never worry about that by the way).
And they end up doing something they just don’t really care that much about.
Which means they fail.
So it’s really important that you choose something you love and are going to enjoy.
Because when you do, you’ll always make that work.
And it’s easy to do that too.
2. Building Trust
Ok, so this is the internet.
The wild west.
Full of scoundrels and rascals!
Who can you trust? Who should you listen to?
It’s a good question.
Trust needs to be built. It needs to be earned.
And online, it works the same way as in real life:
You trust people who help you without asking for anything.
You trust people you like and have had a chance to get to know.
You trust people who share your values and who you feel aligned with.
You trust people because other people have rated them highly and said they’re
good.
You trust people who you like.
So the best way to build trust with strangers on the internet quickly is to help them in
an authentic way in a format that lets them get to know you and like you without
asking for anything in return.

How do you do that?

There’s a few different ways. It could be with a simple e-book like the one you’re
reading now. Or my personal favourite, is to provide a short training video on
something.
Those are best because you can get your personality across and they can see you.

But what should you teach?

A good place to start is to teach them the five steps from your offer.
Of course you can’t go very in-depth in a short e-book or video.
But you can certainly open their eyes to the possibilities and explain the principles.
And then, if they like that and they want to do it. The obvious choice for them is to
work with you so that you can show them a tried and tested path to success with
those steps.
Instead of trying to figure the whole thing and all the details out for themselves!
3. Effective Advertising (Don’t Be Scared)
For the uninitiated, advertising and marketing is terrifying.
But it really doesn’t have to be.
Because these days, it’s easier than ever.
And for most coaching programs, advertising is usually very simple.
Often it’s only:
• One good advert
• On one advertising platform
• To one good audience of people
That’s it.
Nothing too fancy. Nothing too complicated.
In fact, these days, complicated doesn’t usually work too well anyway.
You’re better off keeping it simple and leaving Facebook or YouTube to do the clever
bit with their artificial intelligence algorithms.
They will always do a better job than you ever can.
So just let them do their thing!
What really matters is that you create an advert that starts the process of building
trust right from the very first moment they find out about you.
And that’s easy enough.
Teach them something right there in your advert.
Give them an ‘ah-ha!’ moment from day one.
Don’t try and ‘advertise’, teach.
Be helpful and authentic at every step in the customer journey and their trust in you
will grow.
4. We Don’t Do ‘Sales’
EVERYONE hates to be ‘sold’ to, right?
So don’t do it!
It’s never your job to sell to people anyway.
It’s your job to help people to make the right decision for them.
If that means working with you. Great!
But if not, be ok with that too.
If you’ve built trust effectively and what you offer is what they need.
Then it should be an obvious choice for them to work with you.
And if you haven’t managed to build trust, or if you don’t have what they need, then
you shouldn’t offer to work with them anyway.
Don’t do it.
If you try and work with someone who doesn’t trust you, they will question everything
you’re telling them and it just won’t work. It’s a nightmare in fact.
So what you should do, is spend some time with the person who’s interested in
working with you and ask them some questions to really understand their problem
and situation.
And by doing that, you’ll help them to better understand their own situation too.
Which is really valuable to them, whichever way they decide to go.
It will help you both to really understand if you can help them and how.
Then you can explain what that looks like, and they can decide if it’s what they’d like
to do.
If they’d like the result that you’re offering them.
That’s it.
No hard sell. No being pushy. No talking them into it.
Just an authentic, trust-building conversation of exploration.
Because honestly, it’s not that hard to get people to hand over their money.
It’s much harder to get someone a result.
And if the relationship starts on the wrong foot, or feels uncomfortable to them. Then
it’s going to be much harder to work with them and get them that result.
Plus, it’s really not going to be fun for anyone either, right?
So just be yourself, be authentic, and try to understand them and what they need.
5. How To Do A Good Job For Your Clients
One thing that usually stops people from jumping in and becoming an online coach is
that they worry about how they’re actually going to help their clients.
• They worry that they won’t be good enough.
• Or they think they need to have a tonne of online training materials before
they start.
• Or they’re not sure how they’ll cope with certain situations.
• Or they worry that they’ll have too many clients at once and drown.
But you really shouldn’t worry about any of those things.

Being Good Enough

Coaching isn’t about knowing everything. Coaching is about helping people to
discover the answers they already have in themselves.
Sure, you’ll teach them things. But the main point is, you’re two steps ahead of
where they are, so you can help them to understand the path to get to where you are
now.
Have faith that you’ll do everything you can to help them and you will be fine.
But, of course don’t offer to help people with something you have no knowledge or
experience of. That’s not cool.

Online Training Materials

A big myth is that people think you need to have loads of online training materials
created before you can start coaching.
And actually, that’s the worst thing to do.
As I mentioned earlier, it can take up to 9 months to create a good online course.
And you could get there and find out it’s not what people want.
So when you first start coaching, just offer people your time. One to one. Really
simple.
As you start to work with people, you’ll tend to hear the same questions asked over
and over. When that starts to happen, instead of just answering over and over, shoot
a quick video that covers that subject.
And the next time it comes up, send them the video instead!
Over time, that process will build up more and more training videos until….voila! You
have your online course built to run alongside your coaching!
And the best part is, you’ll be 100% certain that it’s what people need because
they’ve asked for it. Plus, you’ve been paid the whole time you’ve been creating it.
Coping With Tricky Situations
This one is easy. If you’ve been authentic with your clients right the way through and
they ask you a question you don’t know the answer to. BE HONEST.
Just tell them you don’t know. And go and find the answer.
Don’t fake it til you make it.
People will respect you more.

Helping Lots of People

Building a coaching program to scale is easier than you might think.
Yes, you should start off just doing one to one’s.
But as it grows, you can start switching to group calls.
They’re better value too, because everyone is learning from everyone else.
And you’ll start to build a powerful community of likeminded individuals.
It’s gold.
It will mean you can effectively help larger numbers of people without worry.
Group call getting too busy? Just add another one!
You’ll find you can help a lot of people at once without it taking up all of your time.
What’s Next?
If this is all sounding good, then you might be wondering what’s next?
How can you actually implement all of this stuff?
Honestly, everyone is different.
We need to get a better understanding of your unique situation so that we can give
you the best advice on how to move forward.
