Clean Water Supply System and Solid Waste Management System

for Better Health and Environment

Objective/scope
To provide clean draining water and environment to inhabitants of Kalabagh Tehsil of District
Mianwali to reduce water-borne diseases and infant mortality rate through provision of water
tanks, filtration plants, awareness and solid waste collection and management system

Goal
Improved Health Indicators and Environment of Kalabagh Tehsil of District Mianwali

Outcomes
Outcome 1: To provide non-stop clean drinking water to whole population of Kalabagh
Output 1.1: 10 water tanks constructed and water supply lines replaced with new pipes in
urban area of Kalabagh
Output 1.2: 10 Filtration plants are installed at public places in urban area of Kalabagh
Output 1.3: 200 hand pumps (5 per villages) at common public spaces installed for common
use of villagers.

Outcome 2: To reduce waterborne diseases and IMR by 10 % in two years in Kalabagh

Output 2.1: IEC material developed, Teachers and Health workers trained on health &
Hygiene
Output 2.2: 2 sessions per schools on health & Hygiene held for students and parents in 200
primary schools of Kalabagh
Output 2.3: One session per village per month held by health workers for community
awareness on health and hygiene etc.
Output 2.4: Special counters and doctors deployed for treatment of waterborne diseases and
sustainable supply of medicine at all health facilities of Kalabagh.

Outcome 3: To provide sustainable system of billing, R & M and solid waste collection and
management.
Output 3.1: Sustainable system developed for R & M of hand pumps in villages
Output 3.2: Computerized billing system for continuous supply of clean drinking water, solid
waste management collection and maintenance of filtration plants
Output 3.3: Systems developed and Procurement of vehicles and staff complete for solid waste
management collection and disposal
