Part A)

Social work practice with groups and communities

The Role of Community Work in Social Work:

Community refers to a group of people living together for a common cause, usually
to live in an environment which is full of all sort of facilities and livelihoods. The
people living in a community do share all of the available resources for their livings.
Anything available, which can help the people to live and enjoy their lives, are of due
importance.
Now there comes certain more and many things which sometimes needs to be
improved or made to be able of using for the people of community. Often it happens
that much many things do not fulfill the requirements and needs of a community, so
such things are either imported from somewhere else or manufactured in different
ways by the people of that particular community. For this cause, social work is
developed in such communities. Almost all types of communities need social works
and volunteers that help or participate in those social works which are required for
the benefits of community.
Personally, I would like to go with the work and labor of a community (group of
people) as compared to an individual person, because in my opinion, community
work can greatly contribute and influence a social work as whole compared to an
individual person. A social work done by the 'community' for the 'community' is more
effective, useful and of importance, in contrast to a social work done by a person for
himself, family or for a limited number of people.
In short one will not be wrong to say that community work plays a great role in a
social work.

Part B)

Experience being part of a group in my Community

Indeed, it is of great honor and respect for someone who offer his/her services
for the betterment and goodness of someone else. The most important thing in life is
to live for others, rather than just to eat, drink and sleep for self. One should take part
in social works done for the community because it is of great value regarding
socially, religiously and ethically.

As for as I am concerned, personally I try my best to make myself available for the
social works of community to the extent I can do and which are easy for me. But the
biggest contribution I have ever done or offered to my community is that I was a part
of blood donation society in my college. It was indeed a noble act of mine. I was one
of the consistent members of blood donation society.

Similarities and Differences in personal experiences and

seminar readings
Here we should have to do comparison between the seminar readings and the actual
personal experiences occurred on the ground practically. Keeping in mind the basics
and standards of a seminar/workshop work in mind, I didn't find much differences
between the seminar reading and my personal experiences, because I very well
know how to conduct and carry on a social work in the form of a community.
However, one thing which is noticeable is that seminar is a theoretical or fictional
thing, and those things which actually happens on ground is a reality and there are
some differences which exists between the two. All the requirements of a seminar
cannot be completely fulfilled on ground. There must remain something incomplete.
A seminar is just an outline or lay out method for anything, like a social work in a
group or community, so it is not that much easy to satisfy the desires of a seminar
practically.
