What are the differences between the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer?

After a 30-year hiatus, the Jeep Wagoneers are back! For 2022, Jeep offers two flavors of their full-size,
three-row luxury SUVs: the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Both are outstanding vehicles and perhaps
break just a little from the rugged, off-road capability that Jeeps are known for. Both Wagoneers are
now seriously upscale SUVs that feature all the high-tech features, driver assists, and safety features
that you can imagine. Jeep has seriously pulled out all the stops with their new Luxury SUVs.

So, what are the differences you might be wondering? We're here to help break down the key
differences between the two big SUVs help you decide which fits your lifestyle best.

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer: Design

OK, not much difference here. Bothe the 2022 Wagoneer and 2022 Grand Wagoneer are pretty much
the same size. Both offer striking styling but the Grand Wagoneer has a more sophisticated grille design,
chrome around the windows, copper-colored tinted windows, and more premium LED lighting.

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer: Engines

Both offer V8s but in the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer has a 5.7-liter V-8 with the eTorque 48-volt mild-hybrid
system. The combination of gas engine plus electric boost yields a powerful 392 horsepower and 404 lb-
ft of torque. Move up to the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and under the hood is a 6.4-liter V-8 pumping
out 471 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque.

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer: Displays

Big difference here: The engineers at Jeep wanted to make a big statement with LCD video displays in
the Grand Wagoneer, and they sure did. While the Wagoneer has 2 displays, the instrument cluster and
center touchscreen, the Grand Wagoneer has seven. Among those are the driver's digital cluster, center
infotainment screen, passenger screen, two rear screens for entertainment, and comfort control screens
in the first two rows for climate and seat adjustment.

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer: Suspension and 4x4 Systems

Both Wagoneers offer the finest suspension and 4x4 drive systems that Jeep has to offer. This includes
three 4x4 systems (Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II), the Quadra-Lift air suspension
system, and the Selec-Terrain traction management system. The only difference is that that the Grand
Wagoneer offers all the suspension and 4x4 goodies standard and some of the technology is optional on
the Wagoneer.

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer: Wheels

We all know that the wheels make a vehicle. Both Wagoneers come standard with 20-inch wheels but
Wagoneer owners can opt for 18-inch off-road wheels or make a statement with 22-inchers. The Grand
Wagoneer models can be upgraded to seriously nice rubber with 22-inch aluminum wheels in four
different finishes, a three-dimensional wheel cap with the Wagoneer logo suspended in acrylic.

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer: Comfort and Seating

The 2022 Wagoneer features a three-zone climate control system and the Grand Wagoneers get a four-
zone HVAC system with touchscreens in the first two rows for controlling the system.

And for seating, the Wagoneer has Nappa leather-trimmed, 12-way power seats, and the Grand
Wagoneer one-ups it with luxurious Palermo leather on the top trims for its 24-way adjustable front
seats.

Second-row captain's chairs are standard on Grand Wagoneer, and are optional on Wagoneer.

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer: Materials

OK, there is a $30,000 price difference between the two Wagoneer models so you would think that the
interiors would be a bit different – and they are. Inside, the leather in the Grand Wagoneer is a bit more
luxurious, the trim is nicer, and there is a high-gloss piano black mid-bolster in the instrument panel.

And then there is the wood. The Grand Wagoneer has beautiful American walnut on the dash, doors and
center console. There is no wood inside the Wagoneer. Advantage: Grand Wagoneer.

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer: Audio Systems

Big difference here. The base stereo in the Wagoneer is an Alpine-branded system with nine speakers,
make no mistake, a fine audio system. The Grand Wagoneer, however, introduces for the first time a
premium McIntosh audio system with 950 watts and 23 speakers.

Wagoneer vs. Grand Wagoneer: Comfort and Seating

For seating, the Wagoneer has Nappa leather-trimmed, 12-way power seats, and the Grand Wagoneer
one-ups it with luxurious Palermo leather on the top trims on its 24-way adjustable front seats. Plus,
second-row captain's chairs are standard on Grand Wagoneer

The 2022 Wagoneer features a three-zone climate control system and the Grand Wagoneers get a four-
zone full HVAC system with touchscreen LCD displays in the first two rows for controlling the system.
