important for many reasons like gaining job stability and long term financial stability career
satisfaction and success outside of workplace.

College graduates are less likely to face unemployment and it leads to more career stability.
Higher Earning
College graduates earn more on average. Earning a bachelor’s degree will help afford you
economic stability and security for the future.
Increased Job Opportunities
College graduates have skills that qualify them for a wide range of careers with upward mobility.
Earning a degree gives you skills you need for career success.
Job Security
College graduates are less likely to lose their jobs and they likely have better job security.
Job Satisfaction
College graduates have higher job satisfaction as they have higher income and opportunities for
advancement, and it also improves your quality of life.
Employment Benefits
Many jobs require higher education and also provide more benefits and perks. Health care and
retirement investment to travel and community discounts, these benefits offered for high school
level jobs.
The workplace of today looks dramatically different to that of a few decades ago. The trends that
are shaping the work today that she should discuss with the students are:
Technological change

Internet has transformed how people search network and apply for jobs like Monster.com,
LinkedIn, CareerBuilder.com and GlassDoor.com quickly and effortlessly. The online job board
means recruiters can reach a greater number of job hunters. Rapid technological change is
accelerating our ability to communicate, to create to send to distribute data all of these are
becoming faster and easier over time.

Power to employees

Today the organization try to convince potential employees that why they should join the
organization and how they should convince existing employees to stay at the company this
means that employees there is much more power in the hands of the employee.

Globalization

Globalization is essentially living in the world where boundaries of any kind do not exist the
culture that you belong to the language you speak where you are located the currency you
transact in all of these are starting to matter less and less the whole world is becoming just like
one big city.

Human organization and leadership

Today many organizations are focusing on how to create organizations where humans can thrive
where vulnerability, creativity, self-awareness can be used as these are the most valuable things
that we can use in the world of work. Organizations are empowering decision making and
moving from command and control mentality.

Information Explosion

The accelerated flow of information and the speed and volume at which data and information
being generated is exploding so information life is dropping that means you have to act really
fast on because it is suddenly much less valuable tomorrow.

Team Diversity

Teams are becoming more diverse and distributed not just geographically but it is now common
for teams to span cultures, time zones, languages, generations and these demographics are
bringing new expectations to the workplace.

Employer brand

Employer brand is how people perceive the company’s values and work environment it is
everything a company is doing to promote its unique identity as an employer among current and

potential employees. It has become an important tool for companies to attract the right talent
about 80 percent of organizations believe that their employer brand is a successful recruitment
tool.

Collaborative atmosphere

Today technology creative organizations emphasize on fun and inclusion big organizations such
as apple BBC and Google have adopted collaborative business designs intended to promote
interaction between staff and at some work places there are perks like free lunch, gym
membership gaming areas, big tech companies like Netflix and Virgin allowed their employees
unlimited holidays.
Flexible working arrangements

Internet has made flexible working arrangements a viable option for many people reflected in the
increase of more people working from home in addition more people are opting to go freelance
and it is expected that this trend will continue to rise as it is estimated that 50 percent of the US
workforce is freelancing.

New Job Opportunities

Many jobs being filled today did not exist 20 years ago and it is predicted that in ten years’ time
60 percent of jobs will be completely new like 3D Food Printer Engineer, Waste Data Manager,
Drone Dispatcher, Global System Architect, and Nano medic.

Creativity

Organizations are looking for managers and employees with communication and strategic
thinking skills, inherently creative and innovative individuals in their ability to respond.

Gender Roles

The workplace is no longer a man’s world traditional gender roles are breaking down more
women are entering the workplace.

Cultural fit employees

Employees now hire for cultural fit employees with the intention of training for skills later on.
