Vacancies
Industrial Development Board is a premier state sector organization set up by Act No. 36
of 1969, entrusted with the responsibility of encouraging, promoting and developing the
Industrial Sector in Sri Lanka.

We are looking for an experienced, result oriented and dynamic individuals who could accept
the responsibilities mentioned below.

Applications are invited from citizens of Sri Lanka for the undermentioned posts.

1. Post of Assistant Director – MM 1-2

Job Description
To assist Director for the efficient management of the different functional units of the Rubber Products
Development and Services covering Technical, Commercial and Administrative areas.

Educational / Professional Qualification - External candidates

Bachelors degree in Science from a University recognized by the U.G.C. with minimum 03 years post
qualifying experience in the relevant field.
 
Salary Scale – MM 1-2 : Rs. 54,550 – 10 x 1,375 - 15 x 1,910 – 96,950/-
(As per DMS Circular 02/2016 – effective from year 2020)

Age Limit: should be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years. The upper age limit will not
apply to the internal candidates.
 
2. Post of Transport Officer – JM 1-1
Job Description
1. Coordinate & supervision of Transport functions of the Board.
2. Manage and maintain fuel consumption of the Board.
3. Registration of vehicles, Insurance of vehicles, coordinate claims related to accidents of
vehicles.
4. Supervise duties of Engineering Assistant attached to transport
5. Supervise the drivers and transport staff.

Educational / Professional Qualification - External candidates

A Degree from a University recognized by the U.G.C. with 01 year post qualifying experience in the
relevant field and a valid License to Drive heavy vehicles.

Salary Scale – JM 1-1 : Rs. 42,600 – 10 x 755 – 18 x 1,135 -70,580 /-

(As per DMS Circular 02/2016 – effective from year 2020)

3. Post of Salas Assistant - MA 1-1
Job Description
Assisting the Sales staff in the Sales outlets.

Educational / Professional Qualification - External candidates

Having passed G.C.E.(O/L) examination in six subjects in one sitting with credit passes for four subjects
including Sinhala/Tamil & Mathematics.
And
Having passes three subjects (other than the General paper) at the G.C.E.(A/L) examination.
And
Computer Literacy with minimum 02 years’ experience in Sales.

Salary Scale – MA 1-1 : Rs. 27,910 – 10 x 300 – 7 x 350 - 4 x 495 – 20 x 660 -48,540 /-
(As per DMS Circular 02/2016– effective from year 2020)

Age Limit : should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years. The upper age limit will not
apply to the internal candidates.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Applications must be submitted with the copies of Birth, Educational, Professional and Experience
Certificates. Applications giving full particulars of qualifications and experience (with exact dates ) and
relevant personal data with names and addresses of two non-related referees should be sent under
Registered Post with the name of the post applied for marked on the top left hand corner of the
envelope to reach the undersigned on or before 03rd October 2016.

2. Applications from candidates in the Government Departments /Corporations and Statutory bodies
should be forwarded through their respective Heads of Institutions

3. Those who are selected to the posts will be entitled to EPF contribution which will be 10% by the
employee. EPF and ETF contribution by the Board will be 12% and 3 % respectively and other
Government approved allowances and benefits.

4. The upper age limit will not apply to those already in the Public service/Corporations/ Statutory Boards.

5. Applications not complying with all the requirements mentioned above will be rejected.

6. Any form of canvassing would be a disqualification.
