Environment Evaluation – Home

My plan was to get shots of my home environment to show what my home life is like. I wanted to
tell a story with each of the images to demonstrate what life is like in someone else’s home during a
pandemic. I wanted to show normal, everyday things because these are things that we all take for
granted when we are at home.

I completed these environment shots all in the one day, so they are the story of a day in the life of
my house. I did not have to plan very much because it was in my house which meant I was
comfortable with the environment. I used my phone to take the shots for this environment as this
was the best way to negotiate the difficult lighting. It also meant that I could try to take some candid
shots which is easier with a small phone camera.

I think my plan worked out OK as this was the first set of environment images I did, and I was happy
with the images that were created.

The main challenge was the fact that the camera was not coping well with the natural and artificial
lighting that I was using. Using my phone helped me to overcome this challenge because it seemed
to cope better with the lighting situation in my home.

Overall I was pleased with the results of this shoot. I did some minor editing on the shots that I took
but nothing which changed anything very drastically.
