Frame Buffer Frozen/Unresponsive - Fix

Brief description: Frame Buffer causing SketchUp to freeze. As soon as the frame buffer appeared, it would
appear with the history directory tab at the same time, both being frozen.

Or, Click on the “Render History” button and SketchUp immediately freezes. Now, render or load the Frame
Buffer SketchUp Freezes altogether. You can assign textures to objects and do pretty much everything else but
Render or open the Frame Buffer.

This is a known issue which is due to the VFB's history settings dialogue window appearing behind the VFB itself.
The Chaos Group developers are working on a fix, which should be introduced in a hotfix scheduled to be
introduced soon.

Solution:
Close SketchUp and go to C: > Users > ”your user name” > AppData > Roaming > Chaos Group > V-Ray
3.4 for SketchUp and delete the file FrameBufferState.fbs

After deleting the FrameBufferState.fbs file, open SketchUp, then the V-Ray Frame Buffer (VFB) and move it
away from the center of your screen.
Open the Show VFB History Window and you should be able to see the directory selection window (image
below).

Enable VFB history, and the issue should be resolved.

Customer note: “As soon as I deleted the FrameBufferState.fbs file it worked. I don’t use render history so it
doesn’t need to be enabled for anything to work. But If a user wanted to use it, they would indeed need to move
the VFB out of the center before the tab opened up (so you can access the render history directory tab). So I
don’t think it’s necessary to say you need to enable it for the fix to work.” Steven K.
