METHODOLOGY

INTRODUCTION

This chapter considers the methodology of the research and describes the selection of the sample
and the method instruments used to collect the data from laboratory experiment. Through
following steps that can be used during experiment.
DATA COLLECTION
Way of achieving objectives of this study qualitative and quantitative data are required to
accomplish this project. Experiment will be done in the laboratory, which will be more helpful in
determination of primary data. The practical employed in investigation of feasibility of energy
recovery options from municipal solid waste. In case of secondary data survey and literature
review will be used.
DATA ANALYSIS
After collection of data, data are to be analyzed so as to summarize and organizing them in the
way that they will be useful in answering the research questions and thus achieving objective of
this study. The main tool that will be employed in analysis of data on this study will be Microsoft
excel/SPSS software. This software provides statistical data analysis as it allows in-depth data
access and preparation, analytical reporting, graphics and modelling.
RESEARCH DESIGN
Research design is the framework of research methods and techniques chosen by researcher. The
design allows researchers to hone in on research methods that are suitable for the subject matter
and set up their studies up for success. To achieve it, formulate plan for experiment to be
designed.
a) Variables
In experimental research variable is very important. It is degree of freedom the researcher has
due to its indication a learner can change, control or observe. It resulted to two types of variables
to be selected.
 Independent variable; this variable can be controlled or observed by the researcher,
with this the relation of the variable to the experiment can be decided.

 Dependent variable; this refer to situations that affects the study, the change in
dependent variables can change the results of the research.
b) Tools used for research
 Sample of solid waste
 Energy instrument detector
 Record sheet
 Pen and pencil
 SPSS software or excel software
 Water
