Activity guide and Evaluation rubric – Task 5: Communicative Production

1. Task description

Type of task: Individual


Evaluation moment: Intermediate Unit 3
Highest score of the task: 70 points

With this task, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcome: The student will be able to communicate Orally him/herself in English
to present a Job interview, describing his/her professional profile, working
experiences and all the related information, among others.

For this task, keep in mind:

- The participations or contributions shared in the forum within the last 3 days
before closing the task or out of time, will be graded under average or low level.
- In the first part (Task 2), you created your curriculum vitae; in the second part
(Task 4), you prepared your work interview and, in this last part, Task 5, you will
present the interview. With the development of these three tasks, you are
improving your professional career to have excellent working opportunities in your

- It is mandatory and students´ responsibility to register the Skype interview in
the schedule shared and suggested by your tutor; otherwise, it cannot be
guaranteed your space to present this interview. The link for the inscription will be
shared directly in the forum.

-The job interview is an interactive exercise, so do not read your answers. Create
a natural conversation with your tutor because this Oral performance is designed
to express yourself in English. If you read during the interview, you will be
graded under low level.

This task consists of: 4 stages and all of them are required to present your job
interview and get the work of your dreams. So, it is important for you to follow and
complete all the stages.

1. Check out and study the online content of the B1 level. Watch the video on
module 5, lesson 1 and complete the proposed exercise. Share the direct
screenshot of the evidence of your work in the forum: PRESENTING MY JOB
INTERVIEW. (No files attached).

This stage will help you to learn how to express your work experience in a
job interview.

2. Go to the Online content and do the next listening practices suggested in the
modules. You need to provide a direct screenshot of evidence of every
practice in the collaborative forum. (No files attached)

This stage will help you to improve your pronunciation in your Oral speech
for the job interview.

3. To do the Online practice on module 11, lesson 8: INTERRUPTING AND


CHANGING. Have and share the evidence of your practice. Then, enter the
Learning Environment forum and share directly the screenshots of your
practices (No files attached).

This stage will help you to prepare yourself to learn how to interact during the
job interview you need to carry out in the next stage.

For this final stage, it is required your critical professional thinking to present the
job interview. It is now the last part to complete all the tasks and get this important
work of your life. Let´s do it together!

4.1. It is necessary to create an account on Skype. Check instructions here

4.2. Add your tutor to your contacts on Skype. Your tutor’s account will be on
Communicative forum or you can check his/her messages.

4.3. It is necessary to register on time for the English interview in advance on


the schedule posted by your tutor on the forum for this task.

4.4. Be on Skype 15 minutes before the interview to test your audio and video
hardware. Let your tutor know by typing that you are waiting your turn; do
not call him/her.

4.5. On the interview, your tutor will ask you in English the following questions:

a. Who are you? Personal presentation.
b. What is your dream job? Support your
answers.
c. What do you need to do to be a successful
___ (dream job) ____?
d. Which aspects can you help to improve in
your professional area?
e. What can you do for the world from your
professional perspective?

This is an interactive exercise, so do not read your answers. Create a natural


conversation with your tutor. If you read aloud during the interview, it will
be graded under low level.

4.6. Take a screenshot of the interview where your face and the grade given by
your tutor can be seen because you will have to include it in the work
consolidation.

Important notes

- There is a limit on how many students can be attended by the tutor per day, so
schedules will be limited to specific hours and dates.

- Register for your interview in the schedule organized by your tutor to guarantee
your space to do it. The drive link for the interview inscription will be shared in the
forum.

- You need at least 15 minutes to carry out this Oral interview.

- Your tutor will provide you feedback on your Oral performance in order to improve
your Communicative English skills.

After your job interview, you have completed all the stages and you have reached
your goals to have the work of your dreams thanks to all your effort and excellent
performance. Congratulation and keep working hard. You really got it!

Each student must consolidate and submit in a PDF document, the following
information from the evidence of the participation in the Collaborative forum:

1. Cover with information of full name, code, academic program and number of
collaborative group, among others.
2. Screenshot of your participation in the Communicative forum posting the
practice of module 5, lesson 1. Stage 1.
3. All the Screenshots of your participation of the three pronunciation exercises
of stage 2 in the forum.
4. Screenshot of your participation in the stage 3, sharing the practice of module
8, lesson 8.
5. Screenshot of your Job interview presented by Skype with your tutor showing
your face.

For the development of the task consider that:

In the Initial Information Environment, you must: check the agenda out to
verify the opening and closing dates of the task.

In the Learning Environment, you must: check out and study the Online
Content (Level B1 from module 7 to module 12). Enter the forum and participate
in the development of Individual tasks.

In the Evaluation Environment, you must: Upload a PDF format document with
all the information required.

2. General Guidelines for the development of evidences to submit

For Collaborative evidences, consider the following:

• All members of the group must participate with their contributions in the
development of the task.

• In each group a single member will be chosen to submit the requested


product in the environment indicated by the teacher.

• Before submitting the requested product, students should check that it meets
all the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

• Only the members of the group that participated with contributions during
the time assigned for the task should be included as authors of the submitted
product.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must
comply with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity
guide.

Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.

In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic
plagiarism. You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found
in the virtual campus.
