Annual Sales Report of district Faisalabad

Sir,

Following your instructions in letter 257-B, a survey was conducted to find out the
reason for the decline in sales this year. Multiple factors were found which were
affecting the sales of medicines. Due the Global pandemic COVID-19 this year was
challenging, It was also found that some new pharmaceutical companies had
recently introduced medicines with the same salts with fewer prices and which
are less costly as compared to our medicines.
Early this year in the month January our medicine containing ibrufin was making
profitable business but due to the expansion COVID-19 threat in Pakistan use of
ibrufin has been declined to a certain rate as researches show more death rate
among patients using this medicine.
In February sales started to grow as medicines related to cough and cold
symptoms were in demand. But the sale was less high as compared to the
previous year due to other available brands of new pharmaceutical companies.
Our field manager hired new medical representatives to make their group more
effective and efficient; they visited all general physicians in the district and
enlightened them about the literature of medicines.
In the month of February, the sales target was achieved with the efforts of our
team. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and as the consequences of lockdown
sale were low in the last of March. Our medical representatives were unable to
visit the doctors. Due to the lockdown, as transport was banned there were fewer
patients were observed and the demand for medicines declined. However, in the
month of April, our group was able to reach the sales target with the demand for
antibiotics, analgesics, and multivitamins.
Despite lockdown, our distributors made sure the availability of medicines at the
respective stores. However, sales were low as compared to the previous year.
Last year, in April not only target was achieved with record sale which was double
the sales target. Lockdown proved a major hurdle this year.
Some medicines were short this year, which proved profitable last year too. The
month of April lockdown was intense due to the present COVID -19 threats, sales
were comparatively low as compared to the previous years.
Direct public relations could improve sales, but this requires specially trained
teammates. During lockdown, days adopting effective and efficient sales
strategies could prove beneficial.
Advertisement of medicines and their indications could help in promoting
medicine and establishing direct public relations could improve sales effectively
and efficiently.
As per the survey, some following recommendations are made
1. Due to the global threat of COVID -19 hand sanitizers, masks and safety
gown kits are highly in demand .specially N-95 masks. Doctors, paramedics,
and patients require these things on an urgent basis and their timely
availability could improve our current status of sales.
2. Hydroxychloroquine, is a drug that is proved effective in the treatment of
malaria is also in demand and is short. Patients suffering from malaria are
also observed these days.
3. Protective gear, free of cost must be distributed among our staff as COVID-
19 is contagious and medical representatives visit frequently doctors are
highly at risk.
4. Due to the outbreak of pandemic and lockdown, there is need to review
our promotion strategy of products and company policy.
5. There is a need to outline work strategy for field workers, medical
representatives and field managers in lockdown days.
6. If the Payment and salary of staff is paid early on the month, it could
motivate the staff to work hard and could have a positive effect on sales.
I trust this report provides necessary feedback and help the company to improve
sales.

  Yours faithfully,
                                 General Manager
