WRITING AN ESSAY

My name is Widya Kusumaningrum. I was born on 7nd of October 2001. I am

a nursing student from Stikes Muhammadiyah Klaten. I am now fourth semester
level two, I am taking D3 Nursing program. I am grateful to be able to continue my
education at this college with a department that will even teach me many things
about life in the future.
In the first semester at the beginning of college I attended lectures and face-
to-face campus activities. I have made friends who are almost all new and there are
some old friends that I already know. I feel that in this first semester I have to adapt
to a new environment and have a lot to learn. Learn with learning and subjects that
are very challenging and interesting such as basic biomedical science, basic nursing
concepts, psychology and so on. Even the theories taught are very varied and the
lecturers also deliver material using the LCD. My friends and I also practiced
anatomy in the laboratory of Muhammadiyah University in Yogyakarta. There we
learned more about the structure of bones, nerves and human organs using preserved
human corpses under the guidance of doctors and lecturers. Anatomy practice is
caried out during the day where the last day in the exam. At the time of the exam, the
questions given were what we got during our anatomy practice there.
During Second semester, the material taught is getting more in depth, such as
patient safety management, learning how to protect patients from falling risks. In this
semester, face-to-face learning only lasted for about three months due to the Covid-
19 pandemic which had started to spread in Klaten. Learning activities are finally
carried out online to look after each other. With this online learning everything feels
different and tough. Because I got up early to prepare zoom, google meet and google
classroom for learning media. There are many distractions that hinder the learning
process, such as signal interruptions and limited internet quotas. The final semester
exams are also carried out online. After that, laboratory practices were carried out in
the campus laboaratory by continuing to carry out health protocols such as using
masks, always washing hands, using a hand sanitizer, and always keeping a distance.
Followed by individual osca to find out individual skill abilities such as inserting
infusions, inserting catheters, and so on.
Continue to semester third with learning activities that are still being carried
out online. Here begins to learn about maternity nursing, pediatric nursing, medical
surgical nursing and so on. How to treat diseases that attack pregnant women,
diseases that appear in pregnant women, the concept of playing in children according
to their age, diseases such as coronary heart disease and so on. In the maternity
nursing material, the lecturer sends examination videos to pregnant women for
students to study. Until it’s time for the final semester examinations which are
conducted online.
I am currently in the fourth semester with a course with a large SKS weight
and need enthusiasm to get good grades. And there are also other subjects such as
mental nursing research methodology, and so on. Researchmethodology courses that
discuss the work and arrangement of scientific papers. There is a mental nursing
course that discusses how to communicate with mental patients and how to treat
patients with mental disorders. Lectures that are conducted online and even the final
semester exams that we will also carry out online.
I believe and believe that face-to-face or online learning activities will still
produce good results if they are done in earnest. Hopefully the knowledge I get can
be useful for myself and for others.
