Comparison and contrast

Ironically, my life was quite better about two weeks ago. It is incredible how your life
can shift in a snap of fingers. In this essay I will contrast, my life before and after a club was
opened in front of my apartment, by showing how it changed my comfort, the differences in my
safety, and my academic life. It will be seen firstly by showing this contrast on the issue of
comfort, then on safety, and finally academically.

About two weeks ago, a club was opened in front of my apartment, and since then, my
life has changed in some aspects. First, there is the issue of comfort. My neighborhood was a
silent and peaceful place, while now at night there is loud music and drunk people screaming.
Also, before the club was opened I could study, and sleep during the night normally. On the
other hand, now I spend the whole night awake and when I try to study I get distracted by the
loud music.

Another thing, is the matter of safety. I used to feel safe at home, as well as when
walking on the street. However, now it is too dangerous to be on the street during the night
because of the drunk people and fights. The neighborhood was calm and secure, while now it
tuned into a violent and insecure place to live. Today, in contrast to that safe neighborhood, there
are drunk people on the streets and almost every night there is a fight.

Finally, of course, there is the issue of my academic life. I used to be well succeeded at
school with good performance. Now, on the other hand, my grades and my performance are
lower, because I sleep almost the whole time during classes. I could sleep well before the club
was opened. Therefore, on the next day I was always well-disposed, and I could have great
progress at school.

In short, my life changed in many ways since the club was opened. I had a comfort, while
now there is loud music every night. The neighborhood was calm, now it became violent and
insecure. Also, before the club, I had great progress at school, and in contrast to that, now my
progress is low because I sleep almost the whole time during classes.
