Saint Pierre Church or St.

Peter's Church consists of a
13 meter deep, 9.5 meter
wide and 7 meter high cave
carved into the rocks west of
Stauris Mountain. This cave,
which was used for the
secret meetings of the first
Christians in Antakya, is
considered one of the oldest
churches of Christianity.

building has no plan or section
drawings.

DAMAGES / CHANGES IN THE BUILDING

The building, which was

transformed into a church
with additions from a
natural cave, was
transformed into a gothic
style with the additional
construction made by the
Crusaders in the 12th and
13th centuries.

In the church altar (altar),

in the niche there is also a
small marble statue of St.
Pierre, water that is
considered sacred, and a
