Data Files Conversion

Program Version: 5.5

My Daily Planner requires a set of plain text (.txt) and rich text (.rtf) files for it to function properly. These
files are referred to as the data files. Due to the changes made to My Daily Planner features, the data files
have changed as well. This release (v5.5) requires some minor and major modifications to existing data
files if they are to be used with this release.

Warning: Please backup the data files for your Tasks, Notes, Meetings and Subjects to a separate folder
before continuing.

Minor Modifications:
Some of the previously rich text files have now been changed to plain text files.
If upgrading from My Daily Planner v5.2.x to v5.5 the following needs to be done to use your current data
files.
Open the following data files in WordPad and save as follows (changes are in bold):
My Daily Planner Tasks Data.rtf -> My Daily Planner Tasks Data.txt
My Daily Planner Appointments Data.rtf -> My Daily Planner Meetings Data.txt
My Daily Planner Subjects.rtf -> My Daily Planner Subjects.txt

Major Modification:
The Meetings section of My Daily Planner has undergone a major functionality increase. In turn there is
more data that needs to be saved to the associated data file. There are two options available to address
this issue.

Option 1) – Simplest
Backup the original Meetings file to a different location or rename it. Then, with a new file of the correct
name, open My Daily Planner to the Meetings Section and reenter the data. Notice that there are now
more options for details about the Meeting. Once completed click the Save button and then delete the
original backup file.

Option 2) – More Difficult

Open the Meetings data file in WordPad. There are now more options for details about each Meeting
available, and thus spaces need to be added to the file. Three (3) spaces need to be added after each
Meeting entry.
Example:
Original:
Meeting 1
Meeting 2…
After Modification:
Meeting1
Meeting 2…
